Category mapping

Hi, I am trying to create a product-combined MIP feed and there's a Category (ID) column.

I would use "Item Specifics Lookup tool" to find ID appropriate for our category, however the tool seems to be broken (according to this https://community.ebay.com/t5/Inventory-Optimization/Reporting-Category-Change-and-Item-Specifics-Pr... it's actually not unusual? wow) ... so what is the alternative?

According to this https://community.ebay.com/t5/Tools-Apps/Where-to-get-ebay-category-tree/qaq-p/25900063 there's no excel etc. but we can use the sitemap

So if we're selling mainly batteries - https://www.ebay.com/b/Multipurpose-Batteries-Power/48446/bn_1642197 this seems to be about the closest one ... so should we use 48446 as a Category ID? Or maybe 1642197?

Thank you!

eBay's Category Lookup tool came back online a couple of days ago. You should now be able to select what you need. That tool will both locate the correct number for your category selection and will also provide a list of item specifics.

I do not know when this list was compiled, but eBay does now have a spreadsheet of category numbers.

There will be some category changes coming this June, so pay attention to those changes.

When selecting a category, eBay would like you to choose a leaf category -- the end of the line.
