Anyone have any suggestions as to why the categories an item is listed in is not showing when I view an item. Sometimes I look at how others have an item listed to help me with how to list mine. This just recently disappeared. Thanks.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why the categories an item is listed in is not showing .....
@taystea
Well, certainly. It has been moved to the BOTTOM of the page. You have to scroll, scroll, and scroll some more through a few hundred "sponsored listings" to get to the bottom of the page. Perhaps nobody was really looking at those rows and rows of "other listings" below the listing at hand, so this might help getting some "views" or "clicks" for all those who pay to promote.
Other posts on this topic seem to indicate you (or I) am not the only one annoyed by this change.

I am seeing this too. I have no answers as to why it isn't showing on the listing. But the information is still attached to the listing in the background and anyone can search for the items by category if they desire to. So while it doesn't show on the listing itself, it should not negatively impact searches.

Well, holy cow! You are correct and you do have to scroll through a ton to find it. Someone goofed somewhere on this. Thanks so much. I was using it to sometimes see how others list an item that is sort of not one category but might be suited to another. Especially if it's the same item I am trying to list. Appreciate it.

It's at the bottom of the page. The problem with that is the nearly infinite scroll of sponsored ads before you finally get to that buried category path at the bottom.
To anybody frustrated by this, click the ? icon on the lower right of the page and use the submit feedback link. Ask eBay to restore the category path at the top of the page.

Someone else replied to me and said to scroll through a ton of stuff, but it is there at the bottom of the listing. They are correct, I did that and finally found. Someone messed up somewhere on this feature. Thanks for your reply.

Thank you, I will do that!

I read that too. It is new to me too. I'm trying to get some answers on WHY? Other than it would force someone to scroll through all those other listings, that they may find interesting enough to click on.

Not only that, but I just listed something and then wanted to double check that I put it in the right category.
Opening up the listing -- this now adds time to that process.
Thank you, eBay for making listing take longer. 💙

I just noticed this the other day too and wondered what happened. I appreciate the feedback here that the Categories moved to the the bottom. It's terribly annoying that they put them all the way at the bottom, because scrolling through all the sponsored listings is just a waste of time. Ebay needs to stop messing around with their search functionality, it's been getting steadily terrible over the past few years!

Thank you! This has been bugging me for days!

I completely agree. Trying to scroll through all of the promoted listings is ridiculous. Just another thing eBay changes with no notice or care about inconveniencing their Sellers.

For a marketplace like eBay, how a given item is categorized by its seller is an essential part of its value that we sellers communicate to buyers. This move by eBay makes the items less valuable.

While I agree it is an important part of a listing. I don't think it is this essential. Plenty of buyers never even look at the category, they just want to find what they are looking for.

Very annoying. EBAY PLEASE FIX THIS!
