Can't increase selling limit

Hi eBay people

I am hoping someone here can help - I have contacted eBay customer support 6 times now and had no help, apart from one stock reply which did not solve my problem.

I have been selling on eBay since 1999 and have a long and positive feedback record. I have not sold in recent years, but now have some items to list. However, I seem to be limited to one item a month and clicking on the increase selling limits does not help.

When I do that I get this message:

Request higher selling limits

Top of Form

Here are some ways to list more items on eBay. Select one to continue.

Continue

Bottom of Form

And When I click on continue I get this message:

Unfortunately, you're not currently eligible for a selling limit increase. You may need to build up your selling history or wait until your current monthly limit is reset before you can request another increase to your selling limits. Learn more.

Done

So I am stuck in an endless loop.

Surely with my record I should be able to sell more than one item a month! I  look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Best wishes

This the previous reply you sent which does not work. I responded twice but no one has got back to me.

Hello Douglas,

Good day! Thanks for contacting us about selling limits. I understand that you would like to list more items on eBay. Don’t worry, I will be more than happy to help you with this.

Douglas, I was able to check your account and I was able to see that you are eligible to get an increase of your selling limits. In order to raise your selling limits, please follow the steps below.

  1.  Click on My eBay in the top right hand corner of the screen.
  2.  Under Activity, select Sell and then All Selling.
  3. Under your monthly selling limits, click on the “See how selling limits work” link.

4.On the next page, please click on the blue box to request for an increase.

  1. Choose one of the two options.  (Note that an Established Seller Account is if you have an additional eBay Selling Account, already verified, with higher limits.

I am glad I was able to help you about your selling limits. Thanks for choosing eBay and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Barry L.

Re: Can't increase selling limit

You are in New Zealand and this is the US board........things may be different there so you might ask on that or the Aussie Board.

In general....here in the US, there is no skirting the requirement to build up sales gradually......before they will give you an increase.  It's an attempt to cut down on scammers that highjack an old account,  come in, list low, reap the harvest and then try to skip out before the complaints come in........

Re: Can't increase selling limit

Thanks for the response - I have been selling internationally on this account since 1999 without problem, mostly into the US. I have sold thousands of items and have over 1200 positive feedbacks and a high rating. I have never had an Australian account so I don't understand why I can now only sell one item a month. All very frustrating.

Best wishes

Douglas
