I only have the shipping label. I made my first sale, but I couldn't ship it because there was no QR code. I canceled the shipping label, but they charged me $5. Now I have a QR code, but I've lost money. Is this going to happen every time? What should I do?

If you cancelled a label you should be refunded in about 2-3 weeks.
When purchasing a QR code you need to make sure it is selected otherwise you will get a label. You will find it towards the bottom of the label page.

Edit: @ebooksdiva posted as I was typing. They even copied my use of the red pen. 😆 I'll leave mine just to show that great minds think alike. 😁
@ozcannn Just above where you hit the button to buy the label, there is an option to select that you want a QR code. See the image below.
As long as you cancelled the label, you will be reimbursed as long as that label is not used. It normally takes 2 to 3 weeks to be reimbursed, as USPS has to allow enough time to pass to ensure the label does not hit the mail stream.
You still need to ship your item. Do not cancel the sale. Buy a new label, but make sure to select the QR code option before you purchase.
eBay used to email sellers a QR code, but I don't think they automatically do that anymore.
