I sold a $1500.00 item and it was delivered Aug 24th to customer. I had listing as "no returns". Now customer says 1 month later that item is defective and they want to return it. Ebay is giving me 3 days to resolve "issue". I do have the option to reject the return, but what happens when I do that? Will ebay possibly give me a strike and rule in buyers favor? I have sent buyer messages attempting to resolve his problem, but I think the guy just wants to send it back no matter what...

since your listing already states no returns
Is that a specific 'you' or generic?
Because all my listings are set to accept 30 day returns, including 30 day international returns.
If there are some that are not, could you let me know, because that is not my preference?

Sorry I meant that referring to the OP having the listing set at "no returns." I did not look at your (specific) listings

I am 99% sure he doesnt have item installed correctly and I tried to assist him. Ebay gave me a variety of options including full refund, partial refund, deny refund, etc.
I am trying to be decent and help the guy since he did spend $1500 but it doesnt seam like he REALLY wants help. Seams like now he just wants to return in, which will make it even harder for me to resell since it is now "used".
I really dont want to get into a pissing match with him and ebay, but I do have $1500 at stake plus $50 shipping each way...
I'm a tad confused by your statement. You state that the item was delivered 34 days after the return was requested. I assume that you're saying the return was received by you at that time. However, I believe the MBG allows the buyer up to 30 days from the date of delivery to file a SNAD return request. If the request was filed before that time limit was up, the seller is responsible for paying the return shipping. The 34 days for it to get back to the seller would be irrelevant as far as voiding the MBG, unless I'm mistaken. When did the seller send the return label or the funds to pay the return shipping?

You are confusing a "return" (buyer changed his mind) with a "dispute" (item is not as described).
While you can say "no returns" on eBay, you cannot say "no disputes". Think about it - otherwise, a seller could advertise an iPhone and ship a bar of soap and steal a buyer's money.
If you refuse the return, in all likelihood:
- eBay will rule for the buyer
- eBay will give you a defect
- eBay will let the buyer keep the item
- eBay will force you to refund
no they won’t. The buyer filed a return request more than 30 days after the item was delivered. The OP can refuse the return and eBay won’t force anything.
Jen! I see where it was posted that the return was received 34 days after the return request was made. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is date that the return request was filed and not how long after the request was filed that the returned item was received back at the seller's location.
Not knowing the specific nature of the item it is hard to determine if 34 days for the item to arrive back at the seller's location is excessive or not. Being that the OP sells auto parts, some of them used, it is conceivable that the item may not have been able to be shipped back by air for hazmat reasons. Of course, I suppose that the amount of time the OP delayed in sending a return label or pay the return shipping cost would add to the actual time it took the item to be returned.
