Hi I sell parts that are made to fit so the buyer needs to send me the dimensions of their part. Currently they do this through a message but its a pain looking through my sold items and trying to find corresponding message(s) with the dimensions.
Is there any way when a buyer goes to buy the item they could get a message from me requesting the sizes that they can respond to?

So there's not a way you could include that information in the original listing so that any interested buyer could read it?

He makes them to fit.....
When I purchase I am always given the option to add a message at 'check out ' - maybe on your listings advise the buyer to add dimensions there - usually appears just above the delivery details of my order in
a little box

Your going to sell parts based on description or size and not by part number?
That doesn't sound like a good idea.
"Give me a alternator bracket for my Toyota. It's triangular and about 4 inches long."
VS.
"Give me a Toyota part number 2800-14779."
In any case, to do what you are asking you could make a "variations listing".
The buyer can choose between whatever size/color/length they want.
How ever you set it up.
Good luck and stay safe.

There is no way now to add anything to checkout to get info....and no way to "stop" checkout to make them supply any info. There is hope, tho. Ebay said they are testing adding customization info to check out in UK and Germany in a few categories.... When/what/how it gets here ......who knows.... But at least it's on the radar......
