Can I list using abbreviations like "PDR" or "pdr" in the TITLE?

I received this message and eBay deleted all 50 of my listings (I think eBay did for other sellers too).

////Your listing was removed: VeRO Brand Name Misuse Policy
Hello pdr-lights*com,
We had to remove your listing because it didn’t follow our VeRO Brand Name Misuse Policy. You may not use brands names in your listings if the product isn’t manufactured by or compatible with that brand//////

Question and answer!?

The word "PDR" - this is an abbreviation of the words "Paintless Dent Removal", which has been used in the USA since 1931 year.
Paintless dent repair (PDR), also known as paintless dent removal, describes a method of removing minor dents from the body of a motor vehicle.

Currently, only Chinese company under name "PDR" and its satellites appear for a request using the keyword PDR. All products that are ALWAYS used in combination with abbreviation of the word "PDR" have disappeared from the pages of the eBay. Naturally, disappeared all sellers. It's incredible!

I believe that this is an agreement with a Chinese company. This is monopoly and discrimination.

I'd like to know? Who else was affected by this problem.
We must collectively demand to return the word back and restore all deleted listings.

Here is a good one.  Can the Federal Government Sue itself?

Within the Federal Government DEA is used twice.

If you search the internet you will find DEA almost exclusively means Drug Enforcement Administration.

DEA also within the Federal Government is used by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) to describe "The Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program".  I was trying to explain this benefit to someone yesterday and they could not understand what the DEA has to do education.  They thought it is a program for people convicted of drug crimes or was some sort of a scam to bust you.

I can change it, no question!
But "pdr" inside the phrase is the word "pdr-lights*com".
But eBay agreed to this name.

Honestly, I checked and your seller name IS your website.

You have a website with that exact name.

I wonder if this is due to the fact your name leads to an off eBay website and is not due to the PDR..

Okay this makes me wonder then...

Which adult website is going to come along and claim XXX as theirs so nobody else can use it anywhere? 😮

That might not be why eBay took down OP's listings. There could be two unrelated policy violations here.

For a User ID violation, they usually change the User ID to something generic that doesn't violate policy, until the member can update it to something that is acceptable. It often takes a long time before they get around to it though.

< calling themselves Nabisco all along >

Since Nabisco is formed from the first letters of National Biscuit Company, I'd conclude that the full wording preceded the portmanteau.  And there's your $2 word for the day.  🙂

< Did they ever actually get in a fight with NBC >

I don't know about that, and I couldn't find anything referencing to it on the internet.

< I don't think the cracker company name was influenced or forced by the trademark of NBC >

You're right.  Of course it wasn't.  It couldn't have been.  The cracker company came first.
