I currently use my 250 Free Insertion Listings. It's my understanding that when a free listed item sells I have to pay for both: the insertion fee and for the final auction value fee. Say the item I listed at a starting price of $415.00 sells. What would be the insertion fee? All I'm finding are the ebay calculators for the final auction value fee. Thanks.

there is no "insertion" fee for a "free insertion" listing that sells.

Listing costs are .35c no matter the 'selling price' of an item.
If you have 250 free listings, sell 3 in 1 week, and want to 'relist' 3 more, you WILL PAY that fee as you ONLY GET 250 Free PERIOD...per month (sold or not)

As pointed out, there is no "additional" insertion fee when an item sells. You have already paid that portion of the "fees". You are assessed the Final Value Fee and a .40 transaction fee and any "promotional" fees AFTER the sale.
If it does not sell, it is "relisted" and that is counted as an "insertion". You have 250 FREE insertions. After the "250 Free Insertions" are used (in a 30-day period or monthly) you are then charged an "Insertion Fee" for listing more than your free 250.

"It's my understanding that when a free listed item sells I have to pay for both: the insertion fee and for the final auction value fee."
Your understanding is mistaken. It's important to understand eBay's procedures and terminology.
As long as you stay within the 250 Free Listings limit, you are never charged an insertion fee for any of those 250 listings.
The Final Value Fee (FVF) has two parts, a percentage and the per-order fee.
FVFs apply both to auctions and to fixed-price listings.
First, the percentage part, which is applied to the Total Amount Paid by Your Buyer. The percentages vary among item categories, ranging from 3% for "heavy equipment" to 15.3% for books, magazines, movies, etc. Most categories carry a 13.6% FVF percentage.
Second, eBay's per-order fee is charged for each order. The per-order fee is either $0.30 (thirty cents) or $0.40 (forty cents) depending on whether the Total Amount Paid by Your Buyer is over or under $10.00.
Assuming the standard 13.6% percentage on an item that your buyer pays $415 for (including shipping and sales tax), the percentage portion of your FVF would be $56.44: $415.00 x 0.136 = $56.44.
Because your buyer paid more than $10.00 in total, eBay will also charge you a per-order fee of $0.40.
Your Total Final Value Fee: $56.44 + 0.40 = $56.84.

"It's my understanding that when a free listed item sells I have to pay for both: the insertion fee and for the final auction value fee." Nope, you misunderstand.
You have 250 free insertion fees each month. That means they are free, they don't come up later in the flow to them be charged to you. I'm unsure of what gave you that impression.
