I just had a crazy lowball offer of 80% off, Seriously!, I did not even waste my time with a counter offer or even a message, I just declined, I just hope this is not going to become the norm of what customers are going to expect.

Decline and Block is my go to for that.

You are aware of adding a minimum offer option with best offers. Set your minimums so you don't waste your time posting a thread about the reasons why you don't have the time to respond. If you do nothing, expect it to continue.

Yes I am aware but somehow this one got in under the radar.

Mine are setup to auto decline and auto accept, unless the buyer adds a message apparently, then I have to review it.

I'll entertain any offer, once in a while you can get them to make a higher offer in the back and forth and maybe a sale.

I've been getting some really lowball offers as well. I try to turn them into sales but most are probably resellers and never counter my counteroffers.
I have both of my stores on 40% off sales right now and so far it's been crickets.

Auto decline is your friend. Set it at 50% of your ask. If people offer less than 50% there is absolutely zero chance of getting a deal done, and usually customers who make lowball offers that are accepted are some of the biggest headaches on eBay

@meme6253
That was me. I do that to ya every month or so just so you don't become complacent 😁

I'd counter with 400% higher than shown
$20 item
$5 offer
$80 counter
what fun!!

Why put yourself through this. Enter a minimum amount for an offer. Then these low ball offers would not even get to you as the system would auto deny them. It is an issue with an easy fix.

They offer 80% because it sometimes works.
You can't invest any emotion in it. Save that for the people that count.

That was, per the OP, 80% OFF, not 80% of the full price.
There's a huge difference.

You don't even have to decline, why not just block?

Hey, look at it this way, the offer (any offer) is flattering.
It means that for, whatever reason, the individual desires your item/product/good etc.
That's really nice.
You are never obligated to sell anything for a price that you don't want to.
But you surely already know that. Sometimes it's good to vent.
