Did you mean:

Buyers who send buyers notes are a problem 90% of the time

I went back through my sales history and discovered that buyers who send buyers notes when buying are an issue 90% of the time.  They always find a problem. Anyone else have this correlation?  The second group of red flag buyers are those that message for a lower price.  They are also never satisfied it seems.  Ive begun just blocking both these types of buyers immediately

Well, one thing is for sure.

The more people you block - the quieter it will be.

Once you get everybody blocked ... it should be a great job.

Sending potential business elsewhere

I suspect the majority of your  competitors wish manny more sellers will follow your example & do the same.

They can have these buyers.  They will cost them money having to pay for the return shipping and deal with the negative feedback.  Ive had to call eBay many a day to get these neg feedbacks removed.  They are 100% NOT worth the headache

THIS is exactly my point.  If they are that cheap then take a hike

Try 100%.  Almost any such proactive message throw red flags immediately - usually they are finding a work around.  Granted, I can't really generalize and I can just tell by the question, sometimes they might just be clarifying if I know the fit or part number or family used with.  Honest questions, but if I don't know, I don't know, I'm not going to mention a fit just to have them complain, 'you said'....Since deleting all my posts, I really don't know what I can sell here any more. I put up a couple low risk items, but I have PTSD from 100% issues over the last year or two.

In my years of experience I've learned eBay has the worst buyers in all of retail.  Not even close.

Oh boy, my point of view on that is different.  I have far more problems on Amazon than I do here.

How do you make it automatically do that?

It isn't automatically sent.  I have various responses pre designed for certain questions or issue I get enough to make it efficient to do so.  I create them in MS Word, then copy and paste them as needed.

I will sometimes block buyers who ask too many, and certain types of, questions BEFORE they buy. Do this long enough and you can spot a "problem" customer a mile a way. An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.

Whether I sold on on eBay or in my real selling career of 41  years.  Prospective buyers and customers will have questions.  No big deal.  Just answer straight up - don't  do a  CYA  .  Never took the time to  calculate the %  of bad eggs out there - but it  wasn't too many out of 1665  item shipped to eBay buyers - mostly preowned items - men and women's  clothing and footwear - higher end stuff = less than  five  fingers of dissatisfied anybodies (returns/refunds).  Maybe I was just lucky IDK - but  haven't hit the "big" lotto  or  big at the casino either.   Maybe you should  revisit those 90%  bad experiences and see what you could have done better.  Self evaluations is often  hard to do because how we preserve ourselves maybe vastly different than others preserve  us - and that is the reality.  But you only can see your  listing details and eBay messages back 90 days right??

So is this your fake selling career? 🤔

I had a buyer message me to ask if I would be sure to pack securely, explaining that her past two purchases of the same item had arrived broken. I was her third attempt. I wasn't offended at all. I understood.

Hmm... I got the same message for an item. Ended up being a happy buyer and a great sale!
