Buyers messaging wanting items cheaper

For the last couple months, I've got several messages from eBayers wanting items cheaper, claiming "They know the real prices" saying I'm "Crazy for asking that price", etc...  They are usually ones who have low feedback or just thinking they will get a deal.  Is there any way of reporting them or do I just deal with it?  I never respond to the messages they are just getting annoying.  I sell on eBay all the time and shouldn't have to deal with this.

I like the ones who tell you So&So had these for $xx, how dare you ask what you're asking. But when you tell them to buy it from So&So then, the response is, well they don't carry it/have it in stock anymore (or it's discontinued).

Uhuh.

Why do you think mine is the price it is then hmmm?

Ah I call those the arrogant negotiators, gotta love em.

I recently had a return buyer come and purchase the same item months after they got their first. They left me a negative feedback saying that they didn't like that I raised the price on the item since they last bought it. I got that feedback removed.

Re: Buyers messaging wanting items cheaper

There are a group of people with the mindset they cannot pay the asking price, even if it's a fair price.  They have to 'get a bargain'.  It can also be part of their culture, where haggling is standard procedure.  There is also a group of people who are just plain cheap (except if you are buying from them).

I have a listing buddy who does best offer on everything she lists.  She often accepts the offers made - and knows exactly how much profit she will make.  She has regular sales, mostly in part to this.  But, she builds that into her initial pricing.

Working for an estate sale company as my other job, I can tell you there are some 'interesting' people out there.  The boss refuses to discount to 75% off because when that $10 item is now priced at $2.50 they still ask 'can you do any better on the price'.   I have heard him say "if you think you can get it cheaper at Walmart, then shop there."  We know that probably 80% of our customer base are resellers - either on-line, in booths, or both.  Some are casual resellers, others do it as a job.  The pros are often easier to deal with...they recognize everybody in the process has to make money...they seem to have learned that some items they pay full price and others they will get a more than fair discount....and don't take it personally if we just can't sell it at their offered price.
