Buyers Don't See Discounted Prices on Promotions/Sales Until They Check Out

I just set up a promotion wherein about 200 items are discounted 30 percent off.  But Ebay has changed the way in which promotions are listed so that the sale/discounted price does not show up until the buyer checks out and pays.  

Let me elaborate.  If you click on one of my sale items, the original - not the discounted price will show up.  So if the original price is $10, the first page a buyer will see will show the item priced at $10.  The 30% discount will not show up until the buyer checks out.  

And when the buyer clicks on all of the items that are part of the sale/promotion, all of  the original prices are shown - not the discounted price.

As a result, most buyers will not see the discounted promoted price.  This is so counter-productive. At the very least, on the item's listing page, there should be a message to the effect that the 30% discount will be applied when you check out.  

But the previous set up, which showed the original price plus the discounted price should be brought back.

I have no idea what ebay was thinking when they made these changes, but it is one more example of them fixing things that are not broke -- to the detriment of the selling community.

If someone from ebay reads this, please fix the mess you have made.

It would be really helpful if you could give us a couple item numbers of your items that are discounted.

I see this in your store.........and as you say..........no strike thru's

does show the discount in the cart......... tho 50%, not 30%

@joesjunqueandcollectibles    I think you have some of the items in both 30% and 50% off promo.........the shoes.........I thought that could be the reason the markdown wasn't shown........

but I think this item is only in one promo and it doesn't show the strike thru either.

I am not seeing what you are describing in my own listings.....is this via Markdown Manager, or the newer "Create Sale Event" from the Listings drop down?

SAVE UP TO 30% WHEN YOU BUY MORE

requiring more than one to be purchased for the promo........and the choice of the amount in the listing.

His listing is a straight % off an item with no further requirements......

ooops...forgot to mention...I have 4 accounts (bigger than this little one)

I am using 3 or 4 different types of promos (coupons, category, item percentages and dollars), and all looks copasetic with mine.....both in the store(s) and on the individual listings....

The ONLY one that did not show the discount on the listing page is the coupon type (it is applied automatically in the cart)...which is applied at checkout....I am still looking through stuff to try and assist the OP

You have to use 'Markdown Manager' and then choose 'sale event + markdown' as any of the other choices in Markdown Manager will NOT show the original price with strikeout. 

You can go to 'markdown manager' and end the latest 'sale' and then 'redo' it using the correct choice.

I used the promotions drop down tab under the marketing tab on the seller page.  Have used this before with no issues.

Here's an item that is listed as part of the sale: 275344220137.

I meant to pause the 50% off on the shoes, but that is not causing the problem.  I had the shoe promotion up for a few days, and the same thing happened.  But thanks for reminding me - I just paused the shoe promotion....no strike throughs on the regular price, and the buyer does not see any discount until he checks out.

I can only hypothesize, since I am using the same method (from the listing page) and have  a strikethrough on the selected items.....maybe there is a "conflict" with another promotion or something like that....

I just paused the promotion that was causing the problem and created a new one using "sale and markdown." Hopefully this will do the trick
