Maybe I just came here to vent. I noticed that buyers are dictating how I ship, offering what they think I should sell my item for, change my auctions to Buy it Now, disagree with my pricing for shipping (which is actual), don’t use peanuts, make an offer where I don’t have Make an Offer and everything else. If they don't like my terms, just don’t buy. I can’t imagine purchasing something on Amazon and dictating how I think the seller should change their terms. Been on eBay since 2013. Just trying to be an honest seller but more and more buyers have become entitled, I guess.

Wholeheartedly agree. It is absolutely ridiculous. I just spent an hour responding to messages from perspective buyers and getting berated because someone else has a similar item listed for less. Don’t get it

Your listing, your choice to do as you please. Some buyers are skeptical due to previous experience, and yes, with AZN, there is some sort of "standardized shipping & packaging pattern" with eBay, you have sellers that will put glass goods in a envelope and toss it in the bin. Also, and please dont take it wrong, maybe see if some of your feedback might reflect something regarding your packaging skills, that might stir up a buyer, just saying, as I had a buyer complaint on my packaging skills, as I had parcel broke its seal while in transit, nothing missing, but it seems that it got stuck in the sorter and it ripped it open. Sadly, we cant control that, but, we are responsible to ensure that it arrives safely.
AZN, on the other hand controls the packaging, sorting, shipping and delivery. See the difference?

Hay hay... I feel your pain. I recently had a person contact me. Telling me that they want certain listings. That they would bid on the first one. And that I should pull the others, (Several had bids) and send them all to them for $8.00 with free postage.
What makes me wonder, is do other sellers allow these things to happen to them? People just come up with this out of the blue, or has it worked before?

I found long ago that the lower you start your prices, the more buyers do this…. So, the only way I could stop it was to raise start prices to a more reasonable amount. I don’t run auctions very often either, but am planning to soon.

This one part is not about entitled buyers, this is about eBay actively encouraging buyers to make offers even when there is no "Make an Offer" button.
For everything else, just say no.

Ignore it. I have found that whenever a potential buyer tries to make demands on me, it becomes the snowball effect. Once a problem always a problem. Not worth it. I sell mainly collectibles & antiques. I don't sell 500 items a month (nor would I want to). As far as I have found, Millennials are the worst (sorry!). If it's not cheap and/or disposable, forget it. That's not my market & never will be. I have to use lots of bubble wrap & peanuts & they are very expensive--they aren't free. I never (well, almost never) bend & won't go that route. Buyers seem to be so revered because they buy cheap & call all the shots. Of course, eBay is going to bow down to them. Buyers are like busses--if you miss one there's another right behind. I'm so sorry I got started on this. I should just keep my mouth shut--do I hear applause out there?????

Ahh buyer abuse, due to want it cheaper: don't forget to put em on your blocked bidders list. Saves time and trouble from em....
This is part of the reason I went to free shipping: and of course they are still paying such...LOL

We can empathize. Hey... your items, your shipping method, your costs. Don't let a buyer dictate how you run your business.

How do they do that?

I have no issues with reassuring people who have questions or concerns about how something is shipped, I have bought stuff that looked like it was packed by a Tyrannosaurus Rex that arrived in smithereens.
I also do not mind people asking to switch carriers because I have issues with one myself (looking at you FedEx that keeps having to get towed because you try to turn around in my side yard and get stuck)
I don't appreciate being "told" how to ship or how to pack. It is my job to get your item to you. I will not use a small box or less packaging to make your shipping less, nor will I follow your insane demands on how to ship something that is indestructible.
If you make all sorts of demands before a purchase, you will be on my friends list. If you send them after the purchase, you will get my standard response "Thank you for your purchase. The item will be packaged securely and sent via the carrier indicated on the listing".

I gave up that fight as quickly as it started and just offer free shipping now. I am eating the cost and going to write this off in taxes as a business expense per our accountant recommendation.

I never knew this is what buyers see! I check no offers because it’s my preference and eBay overrides my preferences? Wow.

Best Offer on Listing - as a seller you can
1. Decline Offer
2. Accept Offer
3. Counter Offer
4. Let offer time out
You can also set Auto Decline amount so you don't even see the offer.
Unsolicited Offers:
1. No Reply
Never let a buyer dictate any shipping process, the info is on the lisintg, they don't like it, they need to move on and find another seller.
Depending on how annoying these offers/messages are, I would be tempted to add to my BBL.
If they start the process being annoying, no doubt they will end the process being a right PITA.

The buyer was trying to guilt-shame you into reducing your item price.
