I am feeling the impact of eBay allowing more free listing. Maybe, I might closed my store and just be selling based on free listing. Who else is having this challenge? eBay takes subscription fee from me every month for no justifiable reason , clothing people please reply.

You cant be comparing physical store to online store, they are not the same. An online store such as eBay is fully controlled by the Landlord. A physical store is mainly controlled by the seller, the landlord just collects rents @Physical store and has no control in terms of sales.
You kind of misconstrued my perspective, I am not saying the Landlord should not get new tenants or attract new Tenants. I am saying that the Landlord should not allow whatever she is doing for her new Tenants to Jeopardize the tenants who have been consistently paying their rent. If there are issues based on freebies provided by the Landlord, the Landlord should brace up & fix it.

The donut shop in the mall, when sales are slow does the landlord decrease the rent?
Ebay is giving you a place to sell. They can't MAKE people buy your stuff.

I do fine without a subscription.

IMO shoes and clothes sellers should not get a store subscription unless you have 1,000's of items. Those are the most saturated categories on the internet as everyone tries selling clothes and shoes. Yes, as you learned, you just cannot get enough buyers with millions of choices out there for buyers to choose from.

@ony_chine I'm sorry your sales are down but seriously, you think eBay should stop charging you store fees? Where is the guarantee that eBay said you would have great sales by opening a store? Are landlords also supposed to stop charging rent when a tenant goes on a long vacation?

I was going to say something about B&M stores, but that has been covered.

Sorry to read of your slow sales. Try to hang in there. The market fluctuates and sales go up and down with basically no rhyme nor reason. Depends upon who is buying what and when. All sellers suffer dry spells.
There are perks to paying for an eBay store. You receive a quarterly coupon to help pay for shipping supplies. You get a bazillion free listings to use. If you offer free shipping and one day handling you can receive top seller perks like assistance with negative feedback and maybe higher placement in search results.
eBay is changing, updating, consolidating and implementing new ideas and programs that claim to help sellers reach buyers - and encourage potential buyers to make a purchase. This process is causing much frustration and angst for sellers and some consternation for buyers trying to find what they want. This perpetual process began almost the first day eBay went live on the internet. (Just kidding).
The past couple of years has seen an untold number of changes, both announced and surprises, that every seller has to deal with to remain active here.
In addition to adding more inventory in categories you don't sell in now, using Markdown Manager, offering a storewide discount like 20% off any 3 or more items, using Promoted Listings, sending buyers a discount coupon, free shipping, etc., you can help promote your items on your Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest, and seek other opportunities to bring eyes to your eBay store.
Wishing you all the best!

" eBay takes subscription fee from me every month for no justifiable reason "
That'd be incorrect. It's easily justified. You signed up for a store subscription and didn't cancel it so, per your agreement with eBay, eBay charges you for that subscription.
Now it'd be a totally different thing if you were saying you're signing up for a store subscription for no justifiable reason. Whether or not it's worth it is something you need to determine on your own.

As a clothing seller I disagree - there are a lot of reasons to have a store having nothing to do with 'more sales' and clothing sellers of all people tend to have multiples buyers and people browsing in their store, particularly those who concentrate on a certain market, brand selection, niche, etc.
It's just not absolutely necessary and it doesn't, in itself, drive sales.

so ebay doesn't have to direct sales to you, since they are getting paid for a year on store subscription. Didn't say it was fair, but it's their server space.

If the Landlord is progressively giving out part of the mall for free such that he is focused solely on final value fees and causing people paying rent not to make enough money to pay rent, why wont the person paying rent stop paying rent when he knows other tenants get the same space for free? I don't know why you sound as if you are the landlord collecting free money from me without showing anything for it.

I will join you soon, there's absolutely no advantage of paying for a store this time especially if you don't sell large volume every month.

I got thousands of items that I can list but I'm generally not impressed by this strategy by eBay because to list in clothing category is tedious. Why would I be listing more items when I am not able to sell the few which I listed? Its a no brainer that the more you list, the more work & time invested without any guarantee that you will sell. Also the more you list, the more others will list in order to compete. So eBay is solely focused on making money for herself without creating any benefits for her sellers which is very funny and strange in this social media age. I don't know whether the handlers of these strategies realize what age we are at, they feel its business as usual.

Lol, I am not on long vacation though, I am active. I love your reply, if eBay cannot guarantee minimum sales for store owners, there's no need for collecting rent for the stores because they control the platform. I don't expect eBay to give a seller a definite answer as per the guarantee sales but I expect eBay to understand is her obligation to make sure store owners have a great reason to be paying for it.
Online store and physical store have similar concept but they are not the same at all. Online store especially the one like eBay is solely controlled by the Landlord, the Physical store is not solely controlled by the Landlord , that's a huge difference. I know exactly what I am talking about, I am not guessing.

Funniest response I've read in months. Just so you know there is no way for Ebay to know that you will sell at least 20 pair of shoes a month. What you need to consider if YOU cannot guarantee to list enough to sell 20 pair of shoes a month then there is no need for YOU to pay rent.
