Buyers Demands

Maybe I just came here to vent. I noticed that buyers are dictating how I ship, offering what they think I should sell my item for, change my auctions to Buy it Now, disagree with my pricing for shipping (which is actual), don’t use peanuts, make an offer where I don’t have Make an Offer and everything else. If they don't like my terms, just don’t buy. I can’t imagine purchasing something on Amazon and dictating how I think the seller should change their terms. Been on eBay since 2013. Just trying to be an honest seller but more and more buyers have become entitled, I guess.

I send extremely fragile things, so I often get package well message. I get it. The things I sell are not easy to find or replace and I know eBay buyers have some bad experiences with poor packaging (as have I)

If they read my feedback they'd see I do quite well in the shipping department.

I sell mostly by auction when I get an unsolicited offer, I respond  thanks for the offer and appreciate your interest in my item. I am not accepting offers. I suggest you bid that amount and who knowns may be you will win.

People can be so strange, I mean can you imagine walking into a store like Walmart and telling the sales assistants how much you are willing to pay for something? but Target has it cheaper.............

At some stores negotiation is possible.  I once saved $100 on a refrigerator at Best Buy just by asking.

Furniture stores are other good places to ask for discounts.

Especially if you pay cash  🙂

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Best Buy gave you one another customer returned... They refer to this as an "open box" discount.

Actually, you can do that.  Most places will match competitor prices.

I never knew this is what buyers see! I check no offers because it’s my preference and eBay overrides my preferences? Wow.

eBay isn't overriding your preferences - they are just telling buyers to ignore them 🙂

I must be strange, because I did that last summer at my pool supply store. They had an item for $499 that the other pool place had for $399. When I told the salesperson, he said no problem they will match the price.

That aside ..

Walmart will not price-match Target, but Target will price-match Walmart and others - even Amazon and Kohls. All you have to do is show them the competitor's website on your phone.

BestBuy price-matches the Amazon, Dell and HP websites, as well as stores within 25 miles.

Staples, Lowes and Home Depot will price-match pretty much anything if you can show an ad, a website, or even a just photo from another B&M store.

Why not simply ignore and block?

But you can save that half a second by not replying at all.

Why? Sellers who are offering free shipping are just blending in the shipping cost with the item price when listing.  (Or most sellers anyway.)

Block them all.

Let them be someone else's problem.

This is actually a good idea. I priced something about $40 lower than the last one sold and I'm getting all this haggling. I'm going to match them closer to the higher price sold because I think they think I am desperate to sell it or something. I just price it for what I think it's worth based on other ones of lesser quality and how soon I would like to sell it.

Respectfully decline, suggest that they buy at their best price, ignore, move on, block as needed.  Most importantly - don't get worked up.
