Buyer suddenly turns into problem buyer

I recently sold a back brace for morbidly obese people. Everything was fine and dandy. Today apparently it was "out for delivery." So the buyer messages me "it says out for delivery. Where is it? It's 6pm!!!!!!!!" As if I'm the USPS. Keep in mind, the buyer has been on ebay since 2012. Then the buyer, who bought a 6XXL back brace, opens up an item not received case on me, and now my funds are on hold. I'm just imagining someone who looks like Brendan Frasier in The Whale getting any because their back brace is maybe delayed a day or so. This is someone who's been on ebay for over a decade, and is this erratic? It makes me think they live a sad life.

Not a good idea to comment on the buyer's body habitus or life.

Did you reach out to him and offer help.  For instance, he could contact the carrier and inquire about it.

What does the tracking indicate?  You should be covered if the tracking indicated that the item was successfully delivered.

Didn't have a chance to. They opened a case before I had a chance. And now I'm not so eager to give common sense advice from a ten year ebay veteran who immediately opens a case against me.

And it's all speculation, my verbiage was very clear it was speculative based on the item sold. But cut me some slack for being a little annoyed about this, and sounding off on a forum.

lol............sorry for your problem........but frankly aren't you reacting the same way as your buyer?

Not even close. Sounding off on a forum isn't the same as withholding someone's funds over something they didn't cause, when they actually needed that money.

Sorry -- should have cut you some slack.  Guess my response was reflective of something unpleasant that recently happened my personal life.  Hope you will forgive me.  Thank you.

But you did know that, in any case, your funds will be held anyway since you are a new seller, right?

Re: Buyer suddenly turns into problem buyer

Did you add the tracking number to the case?  If it shows delivered, you are okay.  If it is not yet delivered, wait a day or two to see if it is delivered.  Don't wait past the time where the buyer can ask eBay to step in.  You can contact the USPS.  Call the buyer's local PO.  There are things you can do.

It's fine. This is my alt account just for posting. I've been selling for years. Dealt with the **bleep**. But I expected a buyer with a 10+ year history would be willing to wait a day or so.

Yes I did. That's how they know it was out for delivery. I have no idea where it is or why it was not delivered. And it's Sunday. Plus I'm a lot less willing to do anything since they already opened a case on me, before I could even respond. The buyer is gonna be blocked after this.

Re: Buyer suddenly turns into problem buyer

Yesterday I got my mail at 4:00pm.  There was a package I was waiting for that said out for delivery at 7:10am.   My mail usually comes by 12:30.

So what happened?  Friday the clerk at the PO said they had started to receive a lot of Prime packages - a lot as in twice as much as normal.  That's enough to slow delivery down, especially on a rural route like mine.

Does being a seller make us more or less patient with deliveries?

It may be your alternate account for posting but for all you know everyone reading your post could be morbidly obese.

Re: Buyer suddenly turns into problem buyer

I don't see what the problem is.

Having a morbidly obese customer = irrelevent.

Having a impatient customer = common.

Customer filing a case without contacting you first = common.

Lke @evry1nositswindy said, just wait it out and see what the tracking says.

Once the tracking shows "delivered" you're covered.

Once your funds get released don't spend it too quickly.

You do know that customers have up to 90 days (or more) to file a chargeback?

Re: Buyer suddenly turns into problem buyer

Many questions & scenarios to be considered.

Sounds like you're probably a drop shipper since you're bashing your buyer. if you were the original owner / user, that would make you what you're speculating your buyer's profile / health.

A few have asked if you have the tracking # to show where the package is to calm your buyer down. Did you ever upload the tracking#?

Was this item new or used?

Honestly, an item like this and its size should probably fall under the buyers / a person's disability insurance. That opens even more questions that none of us can answer.
