When a buyer asks me a question, my reply and the question are not posted to the auction. Clicked "post to listing" and nothing appears. I have had 2 or 3 questions lately, but none got posted. If eBay is not using the "post to listing", why even have it on the reply?

And even if they do ask for someone's opinion, it is ignored.
This is why there are so many problems on ebay, which leads to many posts on these boards.
Unfortunately it's much cheaper to hire people who only know how to move stuff around and put lipstick on a pig.

Answers used to be added below the description. Now they are only seen if a buyer clicks on "contact seller" through the listing, then chooses the same category option as the person who asked the question.

I always used to look to see if anyone had asked the same question and I have not seen Q&A posted in a long time.

For years it was SO EASY for buyers to find common answers to their questions right at the bottom.....
until the ebay improvement team swooped in.

@stufercars
Bigger fish is correct
Ask questions & responses have been removed from under description area because that is now the spot for all ebay catalog Q&A
Buyer may not even know to look under contact seller section
Here is one of yours, question should have been asked about combined shipping but buyer chose other , so any buyer now would have to click other to see your reply.
If the buyer asked under combined shipping then other buyers with this question would click there & see your response.

I would never look at "contact seller" to find previous questions and answers. I have been on eBay for more than 20 years and they continue to confound me with every "improvement". And then ask my opinion, which is promptly ignored.
Thank you all for the information!

That's just it, ebay doesn't ask, they just do. They never asked me, and my wife, who's been a member here since 1999, you'd think they would ask her...nope.

Ebay should've just left the Q&A info. viewable in both locations, problem solved.

Even though it used to be easier for those who have been around awhile, it is still easy for new people. If they have a question of course they will click "contact seller", it is the only way to ask a question. Not sure why if you have a question why you would never look under "contact seller".

I would never look at "contact seller" to find previous questions and answers.
Most answers there are canned from the listing. i.e.: DETAILS ABOUT ITEM - " ****** has listed the item as used"
Why would I want to wade through a myriad of questions already answered in the listing? More clicks, more graphics and more wasted time.
Of course I ask some sellers questions.

The first time I finally located the hidden q&a under contact seller (can only see them if you are signed out of your account) I discovered pre-filled in answers I had set up years ago. Much of the stuff no longer applied to my listings, so then I had to go searching for those to delete the stuff.

Yup another instance of ebay hiding things.
Their banned categories are a mess and now this.
And of course their tinkering with the ebay category boards was the beginning of the end for them.

Exactly.....Lately, ebay has been all about wasting time with more clicks....I think it's done purposefully to force everyone spend more time on the site.

Problem is, Ebay loves to change things and not tell anyone. They want sellers to communicate properly so potental customers can grade us, yet ebay is lacking the communication skills needed to even make a passing grade.
Wouldn't have been so bad if they announced the change to everyone a couple years ago, but everything must remain secret.
