Buyer opens request for item not delivered but delays are due to COVID, what can I do to?

Hi,

A buyer has recently contacted me about the item not arriving yet, so I explained all issues going on due to COVID and told him I could open a claim at the post so the item would be located and delivered for sure. Buyer said ok. Some days passed and buyer opens a request for item not received. What can I do to protect myself? I believe item will arrive for sure, and if eBay makes me refund the buyer this will be very unfair, because the buyer will indeed receive the item. It's not my fault that COVID is causing delays. Is eBay considering this when dealing with those kind of cases? Help please!!

These delays are widespread and are due to COVID-119.  Ebay is aware of the problem. Ebay says they are giving sellers "extra time" in cases like this but i don't know EXACTLY what that means.

 

All you can do for now is if the buyer files a "item not received" case, just upload your tracking number that shows it was shipped on time and is stuck in transit.

If the tracking shows movement, contact ebay and they will keep the case open for longer than they would otherwise., I believe as long as it "moves".   If you don't contact them, they will probably close it and refund the buyer from your $$.........
