Buyer purchased niche perfume he was fine with. Today, a week later he wants to return clainimg his wife has an allergic reaction and is in the hospital. I mention that is fine. I have a 20 percent restocking fee. He didn't like that and ran off and opened a claim on Paypal in hysterics about his wife having an allergic reaction. Mind you, I recently had to cut this guy off from emailing me 20 times a day and in that time, he never mentioned having a wife.. but hey.. that would not be a first.
Next, I find he tried to sell the item in question because he ordered the wrong perfume, stated in the ad on Ebay. He never mentioned to me that he ordered the wrong perfume. He actually stated how he liked it, etc.
Anyway, to tell me someone is hospitalized! Outragous! To go open a claim saying the same! I can't even! Claim is saying "Quality is bad which is causing the reaction" I have purchased "fake" perfumes and when I make a request for SNAD, I take photos and prove my case. Even if there was a wife, which I doubt, these niche houses use a lot of natural products and many people have reactions to them. There are laundry detergents I can't use for the same reason.
I have never have a SNAD on Ebay, let alone one on Paypal.
I have to buck up that people would say **bleep** like this. I can't get upset because I get a migraine that lays me up for 3 days.
Thanks for listening.

Are you asking for advice, or just letting off steam? if asking for advice, you'll have to either refund outright or accept the return and issue a full refund. If the buyer is also located in the USA, they can probably get PayPal to reimburse for the return label.
Your "decants"/samples (I didn't know decanting applied to anything other than wine - with a reason...) cannot be listed under the brand name because they are not in the original container, which also involves search manipulation/keyword spamming.

Today I had a buyer open a case for an "unauthorized transaction" nearly a month after the fact. The thing is, he ordered six perfumes from me and is now after all this time claiming that two of them were "unauthorized". Yeah right. I have blocked him and have tracking. Some people are full of it.

Provide information and documentation to PayPal for their consideration and review.
Hope that you receive a favorable outcome.

So, then you understand that it's possible.

I did include that.

I do see it is possible. Contact demititis is a real thing. I gave away the offending detergent. I didn't go threatening Kroger with a lawsuit.
Perhaps I should just refund the money because this guy is just total nuts and I should possibly be worrying about him showing up. The messages are still incoming and nuttier and nuttier.
But he gave positive feedback and was happy. I believe this is a totally made up story. But I guess that really doesn't matter. This dude is obviously totally whack. My personal safety is worth more.
Thanks everyone.

There is a distinct possibility that the item arrived, he gave positive feedback then later used the item and found out it was no good. Your items are very old so could it be possible because of that it is no good ? Charging a 20% restocking fee for an item that caused a reaction would irate any buyer.

Hi,
This was actually a new niche brand. It was not vintage.
So, here is how this all played out.
I won the paypal dispute. But this guy is a nut and was then trying to extort a more expensive item with threat of a lawsuit. I figured I would just take it back and pay for shipping too because in the long run my life is worth more and the endless threatening emails written by the three different people he was pretending to be was just too much and put me on edge.
I called ebay to see if we could do the shipping so it could be tracked and then I could refund when I received it. The buyer was demanding a refund immediately, before sending if I wasn't going to send the more expensive item. So then I just pulled back after Ebay said we had to do this outside of Ebay. I send him the money to ship it back to me priority shipping. Then I never got a tracking number after 2 days and I'm wondering what is up with that when he would ask for tracking numbers sometimes several times. So I ask and he responds he has decided to keep it!!!!
I knew all of this was a bunch of nirogenous waste. Unbelievable if it had not have happened. To I put him on the block list again after I removed him when I thought we could set up the exchange on EBay. Apparently he tried to buy something because he found out he was blocked and I guess he thought he could no longer contact me on EBay so he wrote me as one of his aliases on my PayPal address late Saturday night where he lives. I can't even. Too much time on his hands. I just hope he finds his next seller soon. Good luck everyone.

Do you have screenshots of the listing where buyer tried to sell it due to "purchasing the wrong item"? That would be your only chance if you contact PayPal CS and try to explain the situation, otherwise block the buyer and accept the return and let them pay return shipping.
