I sold an item to a buyer. The buyer left me a neutral feedback "I have not used the item. I received it in good order." I then messaged the buyer asking if they need any assistance with their order. Their response, " I would like to wait to see if everything is good.. nothing against you before I leave positive feedback I need to know if the products good"
Ebay refuses to remove the feedback saying it's the buyers experience. The buyer didn't even use the item!
What's the point of feedback if this is ebays stance?

IMHO eBay should not remove a buyer's feedback unless it violates policy.
The buyer didn't even use the item!
There is no requirement that a buyer use an item before leaving feedback.
What would be the point of feedback if this is ebays stance?
What would be the point of feedback if a seller could get eBay to remove feedback they don't like?
Don't dismiss the possibility that your buyer is a conflict avoider who did not give you an honest answer when confronted.

Lol! Speaking of stupidity … I must be dyslexic today and forgot how to tag the right source! Guess I’m on that list! 😂

I can see this happening if they got one of those feedback reminders from eBay and were unaware of how feedback works.
