I don't even think there's any recourse I have because I didn't notice the negative feedback was left and this was in November. I didn't notice it because the buyer never contacted me. But they stated on my feedback though was that the box arrived damaged and I should have put it in a better box. This is during the holiday season with the post office and I've been doing this long enough to know that the post office isn't gentle with boxes during that time of year. The fact is that nothing was wrong with the items in the box, they were packaged well and if the box was damaged that bad, it's saying something that the items were damaged. I feel that this is really wrong that a buyer can leave feedback for something so ridiculous as this!!?
I am not a power seller or anything. I just sell a few things every month and one negative feedback brings My score down 3.6%. I hope that other buyers will realize that all of my feedback is good feedback except for this stupid comment.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I've been selling these starrbucks hawaii coffee mugs.
I've sold about 100 of them already.
I have about 20 more left.
There are 2 of them I have set aside.
Why?
Because the boxes are slighty damaged.
I will sell those 2 separately as "box damaged".
Adding on...
I may have misundestood your post.
You're talking about the shipping box?
My apologies.

I have no suggestions other than continue to provide good customer service.
Just an fyi...eBay did away with term Power Seller a while ago.
Sellers are either Below Standard, Above standard or Top Rated.

As someone who sells collectibles. To some collectors the original box is more valuable than the collectibles themselves in many cases. Cardboard boxes come in test weights of 65 to 280 pounds. In the future to prevent damage use a box with a heavier test weight. Instead of 65 pounds which is most common test weight box instead use 200 pound test weight box. The increased costs per box is minimal when you order boxes in bulk at a place like Uline.

Since your listing doesn't show or mention the product boxes being included, I am assuming that the box the buyer is referring to is the shipping box. The buyer is nitpicking. I've received lots of boxes that were damaged in shipping from all kinds of stores, even Neiman's and Saks, but the contents were fine so what's the big deal?
BTW, the buyer got a terrific deal on those Elves. He should be happy about that. I own about 20 of them that I bought years ago and they weren't cheap. (Display them under and around my Christmas tree every year.)

In this case, you are able to respond to that negative feedback so future buyers can see. If you do, it is wise to keep it professional and to the point. Future buyers may look at your statement which may influence them either way. (buy or pass)
Since you are not a high-volume seller, you could follow up with your customers after the sale to make sure they are ok with the transaction. Sometimes that itself can squash any issues buyers may have. YMMV
Yes, it is a bummer but your feedback (overall) looks great. Keep doing what you do!
-Good luck
