I am EU seller that makes most of my sales in US$. Conversion is a serious handicap and unnecessary cost. So: Can i avoid currency conversion if having multiple currency bank account?

You would need to check with your bank how that would work, eBay currency exchange is a part of all international sales, so not sure how could compensate for this.

Not real clear on what you are asking or thinking. Are you talking about opening a US bank account and listing on the US board? Some complexity to any model you lay out but at some point even bank to bank transfers generally incur a currency conversion.

Looking at it from the US side, I don't think it will do you any good. eBay still charges US sellers the International fee or Currency Conversion fee even if the non-US buyer pays in US$. eBay's not about to let you avoid any fee that makes money for eBay.

I get paid in US$ from a buyer. Then this is converted to EUR to match my bank account. Imagine a refund. Another conversion to US$. Terrible. I'd like to US$ to remain US$.

All sellers who accept international buyers are facing the same thing, the exchange rate between currency is unavoidable.

In most cases your payment currency is based on your registration country and you can only have one payment currency per account so having a bank account that accepted multiple currency wouldn't help. You would still be paid out in Euros.

That's not true. A US seller listing on .com with an international buyer pays an international fee but they do not pay for currency exchange as a seller is always paid in their listing currency.
Assuming that the .au site works the same way and that you list on that site, if I make a purchase from you from your listing on that site, you would pay an international fee but there would be no currency fee. However, if you list on .com, you would pay a currency fee and an international fee because your money would be changed from $US to $A.

I have the same problem. All my sales are in GBP and they have been in GBP for the last 8 years of doing business on ebay. All my listings are on Ebay UK.
When I signed up for Managed Payments, the only option for payouts was to have payouts in USD, therefore to convert payouts from GBP (my sales currency) to USD (payout currency).
I don't understand why. I have never used USD in my account. All my listings are in Ebay UK. I guess they love the incredibly high 3% currency conversion fee.
I had a chat with Ebay support today and they said that there was a "hidden option" to change payouts to GBP before activating managed payments, but I should have contacted ebay customer service in advance, before activating Managed Payments in order to change that. Sounded like a bad joke really.
Since I have already activated managed payments there is no option to change it now. Funny enough, they concluded that if I need to change that I will need to open a new ebay account and drop the old one. I insisted I would like to talk to the management team and asked them to escalate the case, otherwise I will be forced to close the account and move to another marketplace (maybe Amazon). After they finally transferred me to the payments leadership representative they promised they will ask their IT depatment to try fix this "weird" issue.
I suggest everybody that has the same issue, to chat with the Managed Payments team and ask them to escalate this case with their leadership so we are more and more people asking the same thing. This way maybe they will consider to give us an option to change to payouts to the currency we want.

Hi mate, have found any advice for your problem? I have noticed this as well and frankly, it really sucks. Any sale funds are being automatically converted into EUR and once you need to pay for your purchase, you need to convert the funds from EUR to USD again.... any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Tomas
