SO about a month ago he bought from me 3 times in a week. Nothing real valiable, cost for me was like 25-30$ for all three icluding shipping
All orders shipped asap so they posted in 3 envelopes, not tracked
Now she send this:
I don't want to open a request...
But unfortunately, I still not received the items
I prefer to receive the refund, please.
I will repay you immediately if I receive it later.
What should i do?
Should i ask her to open a request and then refund or just refund through paypal?
Ebay will refund the fees i paid?
Also, I know im not able to proof anything since they are untracked but never had same problem before and now 3 envelopes shipped sepetally and all lost their way looks quite strange
I feel like its a common practice to keep the items for free
If i contact ebay is there a possibility to check if indeed she done this again and again?

Contact their local Post office and see if their carrier remembers delivering the envelopes to them recently. If they say yes. Then call eBay and ask them what you should do about it.
I suppose the waste of time to accomiplish nothing will be well worth it. And even if the mail carrier did remember 3 envelopes, they can't guarantee it was from OP. I get 5 envelopes a day...
It might not be a waste of time. The buyer may not get much mail, and the carrier may have a good memory. The seller can make the decision of whether or not to block the buyer also, based on what they find out. Really odd to have 3 separate shipments not make their destination to the same address.
Except it is. Since the only outcome that would be positive is if the buyer doesn't bother opening an INR case, a phone call wouldn't matter either way so why make it? If the buyer opens a case, the seller loses no matter what anyone on the phone call says.
Sorry, I can't agree. Also the buyer may not know that no tracking is available. Plus there is another point to consider, as I posted above.
"I had eBay side with me once, simply because the buyer was found to be abusing the system. eBay would never have caught them if I didn't ask them to look into it."

What a waste of time. The seller doesn’t qualify for seller protection so why bother calling eBay and asking what to do about it? Furthermore the OP is in Greece. He’s already going to be out money because he has to refund the buyer. Why waste more money on an international call? Even if he was in the US, calling anybody is still a waste of time because whether the carrier remembers or not, the OP has no tracking proving delivery.
OP didn't state that they are from Greece.
But you will see that they are if you click on the OP's id and go to his profile page. Based in Greece...

Hi @kostas294, I'm sorry this happened. Three separate envelopes getting lost does seem to be an unlikely coincidence. You must have your reasons for shipping without international tracking. Too expensive?
In addition to the other reasons you probably don't want to call eBay, eBay interprets almost every call as asking it to step in to resolve a problem. If the seller loses, which you already know you would, it leads to a Seller Not Resolved defect, or in this case 3. Do as the experts here have advised and ask your buyer to open eBay claims. If they never get around to it, don't ask again. Maybe they will miraculously remember they received the envelopes and that will be the end of it. Don't be afraid of feedback. You have a terrific profile, feedback doesn't effect your standing, and it fades away like yesterday's news.
You're located in Greece, because your profile says so, but registered on eBay-US (ebay.com), because your listings page says so. If in the future you have some reason to get a hold of eBay-US customer service, you can call them on Skype, which should be free, or message them on Twitter or Facebook, also free, links below. I hope this resolves well for you. Good luck!

The buyer either has not received the letters or the buyer has recieved the letters and knows there is no tracking. Either way if the buyer opens an INR there is a 100% "chance" the OP will be refunding.
Now if this is a standard letter being sent from Greece to the USA it would be somewhat rare to not arrive within 30 days BUT it's certainly possible, sent to the wrong country, lost by the Greek Post Office before it ever got on a plane to the USA, delivered to the wrong address here in the US. Maybe one day it will show up, maybe it won't, doesn't matter because without tracking showing delivery there is absolutely nothing the OP can do.
I ship Internationally without tracking, every once in a while something gets lost and I have to replace or refund, that's simply the way it is.
The only way to avoid it is to get paid in cash and tell the buyer to pound sand. Get you own site and do that, if not you play by eBay rules (which are perfectly sensible in this type of situation).
The OP sells cheap toys, not likely scam material and the odds of encountering a serial scammer for this type of item is next to nil.

I think you'd have good reason to be suspicious of this buyers claims if you've double checked with her and made sure the address you used is 100 % correct. I can certainly understand one envelope getting lost , two would be pushing it,, but all three getting lost at different times is just too much to believe . Tulips

If they file, you refund by responding to the claim. No defect if you resolve the claim. You get your fees back except for shipping, and 30 paypal fees. buyselljack to op - unquote ----------------------
What do you do when the tracking number proves an order was delivered but the buyer is claiming the package was empty ? I know for a fact I put the necklace in the package because I clearly remember wrapping it up in bubble wrap . I also know I would have noticed a weightless flat package in my hand and I would have found the necklace by now if it were here .She says the package doesn't look tampered with so I'm pretty sure she got the necklace ,, or somebody did . Since its against the rules for sellers to warn other sellers of scammers in the feedback section ,, there's no way to check to see if this is her buying protocol . Tulips

I ship low-value items without tracking all the time. It is a risk, but in my experience it is not common.

I thought I already replied to OP's post (unless there is more than one)
Anyhow. I had a buyer claim 2 items were never received (cheap purchases, no tracking , so I'm well aware of the risk). Anyhow, buyer paid for each item separately and there was a different address for each one, so that's where I mailed the items. So when the buyer opened the cases, I asked which address was correct and the buyer replies with "both should have gone to address B". I politely let them know that sellers are only required to ship to the address that shows for eacj transaction. So I only refunded for one of the purchases.

The seller is already out money here. You are really suggesting he pay for an international phone call that will accomplish nothing, and be out even more money?
You don't know what the seller has for a calling plan. I for one can choose several countries to call unlimited in my plan. So, Canada, Japan, and Australia are all local calls for me.

99.5% of the things I ship on this account are without tracking.

It does seem incredible that all three items were not received. Three separate envelopes. Of course, I know anything is possible, but...
03-11-2018 08:40 AM
So i asked her to open requests for the three orders and she did.
I wrote her that if she wont receive them by tomorrow (Monday evening) i will refund her
I will refund her but wonder if i should also contact ebay and ask them to check if she claim item not received and asks for refund as common practise / scam?

Not likely that they will give you an answer on that. (they should not)

The important is how likery is they do a research about it and if there is a chance to get any money back, as a seller protection or something, if they came to the conclusion that she is a scammer
