A buyer claims they didn’t get their package but tracking shows carrier delivered in their mailbox. They say that item couldn’t have been stolen because it is a locked box and they are the only one with a key. How do I handle this? They opened a didn’t receive case and I in turn provided tracking. That’s where it currently stands. Thank you for your input!!

Tell them to open an item not received case with ebay. Contact ebay with tracking # and they will close it.

I would tell them to contact their PO since the mailman says it was delivered......."not much I can do from this end, but the PO is very concerned about possible fake deliveries and will investigate when reports are made". Mailman could have put in the wrong box..... You need to "show concern"........not skepticism.

Tracking doesn't prove something was delivered. It only proves a person clicked the "delivered" option on a scanner. Mistakes do happen. The buyer needs to contact his own mail carrier or post office, the sooner the better while the carrier may still remember the package.
