I sold an item yesterday that I shipped this morning. They buyer messaged me a few hours ago and said she didn't realize that it wasn't her size and wanted to cancel.
Is it possible to call USPS and have an item sent back or to cancel the delivery?

So sorry this happened to you!
Unfortunately, this occurs often as others have posted about the issue recently - again.
It is possible to contact your local post office and ask if they can retrieve the package. It can be done if caught quickly.
If not, your buyer should definitely be held responsible for returning the item to you.
While not good form, buyers have been known to write "refused" on a package then pop it back in the mail to the seller so they don't have to pay return shipping.
Hope this works out for you.

You can do "package intercept" online. If they can snag it , and return it to you, the costs is like $12 +. That is in addition to the non refundable postage you already paid.

I would just tell them sorry, but the package shipped out this morning.

This would be handled as a "remorse return". You as a seller are protected as they should have read your listing more carefully. Once the buyer gets the item and requests a return you can either accept or deny it.
But that only works if the buyer actually chooses one of the "remorse" reasons.
If not done as a "remorse" the seller will need to accept, provide a seller pays return label, refund upon return.
Seller can then appeal, and with the provided info (canx request after ship) ebay may do a courtesy refund of the return shipping cost.

In October some sellers that offer returns will be able to get up to a $6 return shipping refund for false remorse returns.

the buyer can file for a return the moment it is paid for
ebay shipping disables the ability to reroute a package
a recent thread confirmed this with UPS
this is to protect the seller from the buyer changing the shipping while it is enroute

This may not apply in this case, as the seller sent the package thru USPS where a package intercept could be requested.

Hi, i took a peek at your completed listings for yesterday. For an item at this price point, using package intercept doesn't seem cost effective. I would advise the buyer to refuse the package if they are willing to wait for you to receive it before giving the refund. It might take awhile before it makes its way back to you but this way the buyer does not incur shipping costs. Or they can send it back themselves to speed up the refund process.
I see you have No Returns on your listings. Being that this is a buyer mistake, they should pay the return shipping. While you can certainly decline the return request, my concern is them opening a Not As Described case to force a refund. If it were me, I'd tell them to return the item for a refund minus the shipping costs. Also, I might rethink the line in your listing that states returns are only given for Not As Described. A buyer might take that as encouragement to open a bogus case. (But so far your buyer appears on the up and up and admitted it is a size issue in Messages which could protect you from a false SNAD.) Your call, but regardless you should not be out anything for a buyer mistake.
