Some seller experience from the last year about eBay.
Fact is the eBay Cassini search engine is the most powerful sale engine on the web.
But:
As sellers, we had given everything about buyer experience.
Now:
Just check at google trends the eBay Interest over time, is for "crying". See the bigger image from 2004 till today,
eBay made a lot of fails in last 1 year and 6 months.
Fail to manage eBay catalog, (a lot of errors in sellers listing with eBay catalog)
Fail to react after google reset the web (HTTP - https), Also lose the RSS feed from each seller.
Fail to metric service. (a blind metric that tells who the seller is good and who isn't)
Fails to make the payment with credits cart.
Fail to keep experience sellers and now they build her own site
The last wrong thing is to promote more the Chinese sellers than the others, special if the shipping country is from china.
The most important failure is to give a clear solution at fees.
Example fees ebay charge 9.15 + (vat) paypal charge 4.5% - 5.5% (for acounts under $2.500) + charge with credit cart via paypal +$0.3=?
Example of the average eBay price at $6.50.
eBay fees 9.15 +vat 15-24% (depend from seller country)=11.35% +paypal minimum 5.5% = 16.85+ PayPal $0.30 (4.6%) = 20.62% - 21.45% the
fee for $6.50
-Solution: eBay must make a deal with PayPal for fix 15% at the total fee for all payments.
eBay can pay sellers every 7 days with total fees 15% (this can work as an option selected from sellers)
The subscription fee about the shop is worthless, eBay lost the ability to charge subscription that promotes the stores for profit.
instead can keep the money for 7 days. 4 times in the month before paying the sellers. (money buffer)
Also, eBay can charge a promotional fee as usual.
This is my seller experience from another marketplace I pay only 15% total fees and paying me after 7 days.
Thank you
For the Hown store

Ebay's search engine is the worst. Before I could search every item available on the site and find it. Now things are hidden and search results are being manipulated. I buy and sell and in this case I'm speaking as a buyer. As seller sales and views are way down which only proves to me personally that something is off.

"...The most important failure is to give a clear solution at fees."
Hi, I had a little trouble following your post, so it could be i'm not understanding. If i hear you correctly, I think we all can agree that eBay is not perfect, like any business, it has its down side.
Are you saying that eBay and PayPal fees are not clearly revealed? I see you are in Greece and are calculating VAT in your computations. It could be managing fees internationally is just more complicated, but when I list an item on ebay.com USA (same as you), the insertion fees appear on the sell-your-item form prior to my clicking the box to make the listing go live. I know what eBay and PayPal charge in Final Value fees before i list the item because the cost schedule is available to every seller. I think the fee structure is the one thing that is not a mystery on eBay. (But I am not managing my business from overseas either. More power to you.)

"Fact is the eBay Cassini search engine is the most powerful sale engine on the web."
What lead you to that conclusion? That sure hasn't been my experience since it went site wide in 2014.
"Fail to metric service. (a blind metric that tells who the seller is good and who isn't)"
Are you referring to the Service Metrics? What do you mean by "blind"?
"Fails to make the payment with credits cart."
I think you meant credit cards. My customers pay with CCs all the time. And when I buy stuff, I always pay with a CC. What type of problem are you having?
"Fail to keep experience sellers and now they build her own site"
Where did you find this information? If you are going by the threads and those that get upset with Ebay for one reason or another, it is important to keep in mind, that while the threads are VERY important, they do not represent the majority of sellers in the US. Ebay has over 6.7 million active US sellers. And yes some seasoned sellers leave for a variety of reasons and new sellers start. Which is why active sellers continues to grow in numbers. Worldwide Ebay has over 25 million sellers.
Ebay has no control over PP fees. These are two separate companies now for the past 4 years. And yes PP does charge higher rates for international transactions.
Ebay also has no control over VAT. That you have to look to the particular country that is charging it and their rates. Ebay doesn't set them nor do the control them.
"The subscription fee about the shop is worthless, eBay lost the ability to charge subscription that promotes the stores for profit. instead can keep the money for 7 days. 4 times in the month before paying the sellers. (money buffer)"
While a store subscription may not be of value to you, it is of value to millions of seller. I'm one of them. My store saves me money on every transaction. And there are other benefits from having a store beyond lower FVFs that I find of value as well as I'm sure many other sellers do as well. I don't know if you are using your store to its full potential or not. Or what is causing you to feel a store isn't worth it.
I don't know about your comment on Ebay keeping money for 7 days. I have no clue what that is about. It certainly has nothing to do with a store subscription. At least not here in the USA. Besides, Ebay don't process the money, so they can't keep it. That would be PP which is a separate company. I don't know if they have special rules for sellers from your country.
