Had a buyer purchase something from me and they left a message on the purchase saying it was for their sons bday and wanted it shipped faster. No big deal there.
Few hours later, he messages me this
"Pleaselet me send you a FedEx or USPS Label to use to send this to me. I forgot to get these a long time ago for my soon to be 6 year old son (this thursday). You may call me at (phone number) email me at (email) or message me through eBay"
I told him I would ship it out tomorrow with USPS priority mail in hopes he would get it in time, but I just wanted to ask if the message he.sent seem.weird? I'm the seller, why is he saying he would print me a.label and ask me to email or call him when we can message through eBay? (this was after he purchased the item)
So yeah what do you guys think?

Again, inform the buyer you will not send the item with his/her label. Tell him/her you'll send it via the method you offered in the item listing.
If s/he wants another shipping method, ask if s/he'd like to cancel the purchase. Then you can relist it with whatever shipping method (and cost) s/he prefers. S/he can then repurchase the item from the new listing.

btw in the buyer note after he purchased it, he said he would like to pay for faster shipping, but that was after he already paid for it

Us guys don't have to think--we know it's a scam from start to finish.
If that person wanted to negotiate some kind of change in shipping, s/he should have arranged that before making the purchase.
You could ask if s/he'd like to cancel the purchase. You could then relist it with the shipping alternatives, and s/he could buy it again.
P.S. DO NOT call the person or contact them through personal email. Keep all contact through eBay messaging. You may need a record of your interactions with this person in the future.

Is this for the hundred dollar Nintendo game?

Yep, definitely keeping all talk on eBay. I just told him I would ship it tomorrow so he could get it in time but it just seems weird.

Well, too late to edit my previous post, but I suppose there's a chance it isn't a scam.
But it's always something like a six-year-old kid's birthday present, isn't it?
I'd still ask if s/he'd like you to cancel the sale (and make sure you use "buyer requested" if s/he does want to cancel it).
Purchase whatever shipping you decide upon, whether USPS, FedEx or UPS, yourself. There's no need for the buyer to provide a label. BTW, s/he didn't mean s/he was going to print a label and send it to you--s/he meant s/he would supply one electronically and you would print it out on your end.

Sure does. Make sure you only use the address in the eBay order. On the label you buy. Good luck.

I think it sounds very fishy..and the way the mail is still running..I doubt he will get it in time..and may file for inr and get his refund before it gets there..then keep the game. I hope Im wrong, but Ebay has made me very cynical.
