I just noticed this 5% fee has been charged for every sale I've made since around February. Yeah I don't keep track of this stuff well so somehow I was completely unaware of this fee but still in terms of being a good seller and my feedback, handling returns appropriately etc have all been exemplary so why are they penalizing me? I'm so **bleep** right now.

If you have not done so, you need to check your "seller dashboard" to determine the cause of the 5% fee, and work to correct the issue.
In days gone by you would not have had the option to improve. You would have been gone.

so a 2.41% defect rate or 12 of 497 transactions equals that kind of penalty. late shipment rate of .61% or 3 of 489 transactions. .20% cases closed without seller resolution or 1 of 497 which for sure did not happen. that was one of those ebay flukes where there was no good resolution. i don't just ignore issues

thats absolutely ridiculous to charge me an extra 5% on top of the almost 13% standard. this company is garbage

and if you're going to say my return rate is too high well I sell a lot of electronics which I test and still things are returned as not working. it happens. especially some of these vintage electronic items i sell. its insane to penalize me in such a way making me out to be a "bad seller" with this ridiculous extra fee for something that is essentially out of my control

Hi - you found the 5% surcharge started in February? 7 months? Were there months it went away (maybe you went back up for a period?)
Only ask as usually 7 months is longer than the timelines e-Bay usually gives to reverse/correct, etc.
Unfortunately, not just the 5% fee add on - they also hit you with other funs things that make it tough to reverse this mess called below standard.
What does your Seller Hub project for Friday, 8/20?

i figured out why this happened in the first place. i had to cancel 11 listings earlier this year for an emergency and this somehow counted against me to this degree. incredible. now that i know im going to put my listings on my other account which is above standard.

That may, or may not work out as a solution.
If one account goes down in flames eBay may associate it with any other accounts by the same user.

I've never started (or locked) a thread, but I think you have to push that arrow in the box of your initial post to request a Moderator. I'm really glad that you figured out what the 'glitch' was. Upward and onward and all...
