Below Average Standard

Hello,

I am new to Ebay (6 mo) and in my 2nd month I accidentally listed 7 items with free shipping. The items were purchased and when I noticed my error, I cancelled the orders and notified the buyers of my error. Subsequently I went from Above Average Standard and perfect feedback to Below Average Standard. I reached out to Ebay notifying them of my error but denied me an appeal. Any suggestions how to get out of this mess???

I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT drop in sales and do not know what to do at this point.

Thank you for your time and advice

Re: Below Average Standard

Yes, it has raised my final fee as a penalty. I learned a very valuable lesson and certainly will reach out with questions in the future

Re: Below Average Standard

I agree with @a_c_green about making sure the AI descriptions are accurate and make sense. For example, your description for the Pomeranian tote bag says "this brand new bag offers plenty of space for your pet to comfortably fit inside while you on the go. Perfect for pet owners looking for a reliable and fashionable way to transport their beloved canine companion." Is this bag really made for transporting a dog? I never use AI since it never adds substance to the description.

Re: Below Average Standard

That listing is indeed listed under pet carriers, so I don't think we can blame the AI for this one, unless it also chose the category as well as the description. I found it interesting that there is actually a typo or a missing word ("while you on the go") in the description as well, even though the rest of it seems artificial.

Re: Below Average Standard

As a buyer, I usually bypass AI description items.  They tell me nothing.  A catalog-type AI description is fine for new items but not  for used or collectibles.

Plus, wrong or right, I assume the seller is doing half a job.

So my advice, if you want to increase sales, is to ditch the AI and write me a sentence or two about your specific item.

(I am also a seller, not on this ID.)

Re: Below Average Standard

You are not going to recover your seller level until 13 months from those cancellations. With 30 sales per month, you will not recover any sooner.

You will be punished in multiple ways until then.

If what you are making in profit justifies it keep going.

You should probably add another venue to sell in. I can't recommend one for your stuff, not my bag.

If it takes off, you can take a hiatus from Ebay until your seller level improves.

Re: Below Average Standard

Seriously I'd have eaten the cost and not canceled. When I screw up on here it's on me, just as when I screw up on an over the counter sale. Oh well, do better next time!
