Did you mean:

Being charged a fee for each revision.

Noticed yesterday I am being charged a fee of 10 cents for each revision. Has anyone else noticed this? I HOPE it's a glitch and will be resolved soon!!!

Re: Being charged a fee for each revision.

Update today 3-20-18 the problem is still there. When revising a newly listed item I am shown a revision charge of 5 cents to 10 cents. The charge does not seem to appear on my fees but it is still concerning. Any revisions I have made today whether old listings or new show a revision fee at the last screen. I tried to reply to the last person who gave info on this trinton@ebay and it says they do not accept messages.

Re: Being charged a fee for each revision.

@Anonymous -- the previous two replies are in response to your request for information.

@siameseart -- Trinton asked for sellers to @mention him and post the screenshots. That means to type an @ sign, and then choose his name from the drop down list. It shows up in the post like your name does on at the beginning of this paragraph, because I @mentioned you as well. This means that you will get a notification (the bell will turn red at the top of the page) to let you know that you were mentioned in this reply.

@mentioned Trinton at the beginning of this post to let him know you had responded to him. His name will look a bit different because for some reason, with eBay employees, it doesn't show the "@" sign at the beginning when it posts, even though it is there as I type this.

You can tell that the @mention worked if it shows as blue while you are typing, and then as a clickable link with underlining after you post the reply.

Someone named trinton from the ebay community wants me to give them the screenshot & item number as an example but it won't let me message them. If you are out there trinton@eBay here is the item number as the lastest example of a revision that just looked like it charged me 10 cents to do a small revision. Hi @siameseart! Thanks for getting us that item number. 🙂

This appears to be a cosmetic issue (intermittently a revision is showing a charge, but it is not actually charging), and I've added you, @the-media-dungeon and @tunicaslot to the ticket we have open and hopefully you won't see this much going forward!

I just found this while browsing the help pages

"You can usually make changes to your eBay listings, but there are some restrictions depending on what you want to change and when. There's no fee to revise a listing unless you add a special feature or raise your asking price."

Excuse me? Since freaking when?????

Re: Being charged a fee for each revision.

this used to happen to me all the time, going on for years and years... but only for listings i had listed in either an additional category (10 cents extra) or i paid for having u.k. visibily (50 cents extra). these extra fees would be reinvoiced each time i made a revision. i finally got rid of u.k. visibility and second category so i would not be constantly charged for this. myoasisjewels - unquote --------------------------

It's good you did ,,   but what I'd like to know  is how they justify a fee for revisions in the first place ? Is there a cost to e bay when a seller makes a revision and they are just trying to recoup it??  or is it just another way  to make extra money off of the sellers ? Hopefully someone will know the answer . Tulips

Re: Being charged a fee for each revision.

Apparently we can LOWER the price for free but we have to PAY to raise it. Go figure.

Sure looks that way . I think it's a bit petty  for  them to need their hand in the till  just because a seller might make a few extra bucks ,, if indeed that is the case . Tulips

I wonder if that's a throwback to the olden days when listing fees were based on the starting or BIN price of the item. I recall listing items at $24.99 because the insertion fee was lower than $25 insertion fee. Then, $25-$49.99 was the next increment. $49.99 was cheaper to list than $50.

Is it possible that part of the TOS didn't get changed when $.30 insertion fees came to be?
