Shout out to all eBay sellers with bad feedback from Unjustified buyers. We all understand that buyers are allowed to leave feedback for any reason whatsoever, however there are criteria that can have them removed. Why is it that an item shipped shows tracking, but is taking the shipper too long to arrive is justification for negative feedback from the buyer? And when you request to have the feedback removed, eBay says that the feedback does not warrant removal? how is it that an item shipped on time but is being held up by the shipper justifies a buyer leaving the seller negative feedback? Is this just another one of eBay buyer protection and sellers be screwed?

In a nutshell... Yes.

I think ebay/CS has been known to tell the seller to choose a more reliable shipping company to avoid such feedback.
And, the seller is responsible for on-time delivery, no matter what time frame anybody tells the buyer.

17 days past the estimated delivery date is a long time. Why is the package being held up and have you contacted the shipping carrier to see if you can get it moving?

There are some protections in place currently for delays related to the pandemic.
If your item was shipped before then, those probably would not be eligible, but no one can say Yes until you ask.

Rather than focusing on the feedback right now, maybe try to figure out what happened to the package. Doing that might get your bad feedback removed. What method did you use? What does the tracking show? Has a case been filed yet?
I've gotten bad feedback before---some were not fair and others I deserved. I guess that unites many sellers, but I worry more about losing money and/or disappointing buyers if I can help it.

@femmefan1946… My mama always said, "They can't eat you!" She was so right. Yes, ask when the sky isn't still falling and c/s is available. A neg isn't the end of the world, but a temp neg makes today brand new day!
I also feel that there may be other things down the line (regarding this issue, in particular) besides the earlier 'seller protections' you mentioned. This has been such a learning curve for all...

Because the transaction resulted in a negative experience for the buyer.
Feedback is about the buyer's perception of the transaction, not about the seller's ability to "prove" it was not his fault.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your precious brother. I have a younger brother in Manhattan with a compromised immune system. Cannot imagine him gone, too devastating. Hang in there, @dinpavent0 .

Once I get a tracking number and I see that the item is going through the postal / UPS system then I do not hold the buyer responsible for anything that happens to it because he / she held up their end of the bargain. It is not their fault USPS or any other shipping service has jacked up people.

My sincere condolences, as well. It is hard loosing a close family member or friend. It is hard, but the pain does ease with time. I'm the last of my family and have been for a number of years, so I can attest to it, from my viewpoint. The pain never goes away, but it lessens as time and life continues. The mind dislikes remembering pain.
