You want to know why ebay is going the drain, and we can't sell anything anymore? Because they allow things like this to happen
It took me years to get a decent selling limit. Had to jump through hoops.
How is this seller, magically able to have a limit of millions, and 4000 items, many of which have a quanityt of 100+? The rest of us have to start off with $500/10 items. HOw is this even possible?
The search results are flooded with this garbage. We might not be competing against Chinese sellers, as some people on here try to claim, but no one wants to shop on here anymore, when the market is flooded with this garbage.
And even worse, when it comes to MY market, they are able to put up after market, or straight up counterfeit items, while still listing them as a brand name, completely screwing up search results for buyers that might want my parts. So they don't even bother with ebay anymore. Why would they want to?
Brand is set as Tag Heuer. This isn't allowed. But do you think ebay will do anything if you complain? NOPE

My guess would be that.... when you can list MILLIONS of dollars and THOUSANDS of items worth of inventory here, you too will be able to negotiate a special deal too. There are certainly sellers here who DO exactly that, but.... they're worth it to eBay as the fees from the Big Boys and Major Players outweigh our little puny contributions to eBay like weighing a feather opposite a mountain.
The so called Power Players in the business world are always negotiating for placement, costs, every advantage their size and muscle can help manage for them. Has always been that way. Ebay is no different. In other words... size DOES matter.

How are they able to list that much?
Because Chinese pennies are worth more in Ebayland than US and Canadian dollars.
That's how, and it's disgusting.

doubt it. Their standards for Chinese sellers are just MUCH lower. We can't get away with even half the stuff they are able to. This was all listed in the past month. They put false imfornation in their listings, blatently against ebay policy. There is no checks and balances for them. Even if they get banned, they will be back up in a heart beat. If ebay wants to deal with China, they need to make an ebay China instead. If people want to buy from China, they can go there, just as there is an Ebay UK. We shouldn't have to be inundated with Chinese junk when we are searching for normal stuff. They should be relegated to international seller, only. We jump through hoops, free returns, 3 day garuntee, etc etc, so we can get to the top. Then these people list 1000's of items on fresh accounts, and skip the entire line.

Evidently, they are special - so they get preferred treatment and benefits. ????? I agree - it took time to get my limits up there and I had to work for them too. It makes my blood boil to see stuff like this. Thanks for the post.

That may be it. In the ebay Limits on eBay sellers ebay states: "You may be able to raise the limits on your account if you have another, more established seller account on eBay"
What I find curious about the seller is;
Seller charges sales tax for items shipped to: NM(5.125%).
Member in United States
Item location: Shenjen, China
Maybe a USA seller drop shipping from China?

The good news is, he ain't too swift at selling...5 total sales all month.
But...is this false advertising???
"We have scoured the WORLD for “hard to find” jewelry that is unique, fun and most importantly, affordable. Of course, that’s not all we have to brag about. Our superior customer service team is available to ensure your experience with us is great!"
God bless their hearts for for "scouring" over the world to bring us these hard to find items. And not as many suggest that these are cheap knock-offs mass produced in factories in China.

I sell walkie talkies, and the lot I got had a few that did not have antennas. So I search eBay for genuine antennas. Instead all I get is page after page of cheap Chinese made knock-offs. As anyone will tell you, the antenna is the most important part of the radio, and the junk sold by the Chinese has been vilified from eBay feedbacks to radio forums, yet, they keep coming in waves. Page after page. You have to wade through all that junk to find an American selling genuine antennas.

The problem is that the seller like this, the one that is bringing down eBay, is a preffered seller for eBay and the seller of the truly unique hard to find is not wanter?

Unfortunately for US sellers, they have morphed the dot com site into the catach all for anyone wanting to list from anywhere.
There was an eBay china (may still be) but they didn't want to list there to sell to China, they want to list on the US and UK sites and eBay not only allows it but encourages it.
Your new seller is probably a big player on Ali or elsewhere.
It's the newbies from India that are allowed to list thousands within their first month that irk me more.

The answer is that eBay has a lot invested in these Chinese sellers. It's eBay's way of directly competing with regular sellers while keeping their fingerprints off it.
Chinese sellers get this:
plus this
Keep in mind that eBay helped broker that little gem. Nice, huh?
Oh, and...
So there you have it.
eBay helps sellers in China to succeed on eBay by telling them what to make based on search results...I'd call them "replicas" for lack of a better term, but they simply can't be because replicas are expressly NOT ALLOWED per the UA, right?
eBay helps sellers in China by keeping their shipping rates eye poppingly low while ours are just stupid money and continually increasing. I mean somebody has to pay operating costs while eBay helps the USPS give away the store... right?
Finally, eBay helps sellers in China by building them warehouses here in USA so they can circumvent your "USA only" search parameters whether the widget you want is actually here in USA or not. (Personally I think it would have been cheaper to just rename a village in China "USA" and mislead buyers that way by shipping from "USA".)
What has eBay done for USA sellers lately?
Do you REALLY think they're going to go through all that to let your paid listings compete with all that money they've invested against you?
