I just had an envelope delivered to me Certified mail. Got my mail from my mailbox. I saw the mailwoman walking away so she DID deliver it. The Green card on the back was Missing. Meaning I NEVER singed for the certified mail. In the USPS System it claims it was left with an individual! NO it was left in my box & was Never Signed For! Somebody is getting a Forged Signature on the return Green Card!

I think during these Covid times, an actual signature is no longer procured.

I had something delivered certified to my door, but the mail lady signed it for me. It is due to covid.

If it is because of the virus & mailpeople are signing I understand. However what is the point in paying for a service that requires a signature if you are never going to get the signature?
How about on ebay/paypal for items over a certain amount that require a signature. A mailpersons signature will not be accepted as proof if a buyer says they didnt get it. If it is accepted then how many buyers may get screwed if they really never get the item but get the "Mailperson signed so you got it".

Ours does the same thing on those rare occasions when a signature is required at our place.
While it's obviously not ideal to skip the signature collection, the package did get delivered as expected, so I would think the sender would have a bigger complaint than the recipient in this case.

Hubby received a registered package from Greece last week. Our mail lady signed for him in my presence after asking if we wanted to accept it. They no longer allow the recipient to sign due to Covid-19. That said, your carrier should have asked you if you wanted to accept the letter first.

"It is due to covid. "
I had a postal carrier break the six foot force field back in April. Now she sets packages in the back of my truck per my instructions.
Also due to "Covid" people in grocery stores no long understand that 6 feet means six feet in ALL directions.
Apparently people have no sense of directional arrows as well. I just got back from a quick once a week trip to buy some groceries.
Was in a fairly long line at the post office yesterday. The line had the USPS stickers on the floor about seven feet apart, which is great except when the short person behind me was almost kicking my heels and didn't understand what the stickers were for apparently. Since she was a foot shorter than me I figured I was safe but I did ask her to get back on her designated spot.
Eleven months in and many people still have no clue.
Special warning: You have got to watch out for the seniors who shop alone when they have no business going out in public in the first place. Six feet to them is six inches. They are half blind and don't see arrows on the floor nor do they stop and wait for people to select items before barreling on by, thus breaking the sis foot in all directions guidelines. And the 80+ crowd is the most vulnerable yet they still shop in the middle of the day, alone.
Wait till I'm 85 years old, which is a long time from now. I might just put the credit card away, hide the touch pay card and pull out my checkbook at 6:00p.m. when there are eight people with loaded carts and screaming kids behind me. Sometimes I wonder if the oldsters today are just playing a joke on the working people by shopping during the peak afternoon hours?
