Are you allowed to set up automatic messages on ebay? If so, how can I do it?

I’m a buyer only … and I’ve occasionally received an immediate message from the seller thanking me for my purchase (along with eBay’s confirmation message) as soon as I won/bought an item.

I assumed these were ‘automatic messages’ a seller was able to set up … similar to automatic feedback. Am I mistaken?

There is an option to send up an out of office message which will go to anybody that sends you an eBay message.

There is not a way to set up a customized automatic message to buyers after an order comes through - not within eBay settings. Some sellers use third party software.

As you can see, there is an automatic message when a buyer makes a purchase sent by eBay that cannot be disabled, nor can it be customized with your own message. eBay took away the customization option years ago.

Actually it's all sellers concerns. You represent a community of sellers on Ebay. Bad selling behavior is everyone's concern. I wouldn't try to list them again.

Digital gaming items like you have sold are not allowed to be sold here. The gaming companies do not allow their games or in game items to be sold or transferred to another person. Since you are not allowed to sell it, eBay will not protect you - all the buyer has to do is say they didn't receive it and you lose immediately since you can't produce online viewable tracking that states delivered. Ebay will NOT look at any messages between you and the buyer to prove any sort of delivery.

Any listings you may see are against policy and when discovered the listings will be removed and the seller sanctioned or banned completely

You can send a automatic thank you FEEDBACK to a buyer as soon as they make the purchase. Mine is set up that way.

You can send a thank you MESSAGE to a buyer when you print out the shipping label, but it's not automatic. You have to check a box and type out the messages. I do that too.

I'm not sure if there are any other ways.
