Do I need to create an account for Facebook in order to speak to a representative from ebay

You can create a temporary account and there's no law says you have to use it. Lots of people do it.
The best advice and help you can get is thru that FB link. Incase you don't have the address, I'll provide it for you:
https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/
Good luck to you.

Yes, you do. You can, however, put the account on indefinite hold if you'd like, when you're done with your eBay issue. It would still be there if you needed to reactivate it in the future. I put mine on hold back in about December of 2021 and just reactivated it yesterday.

Search ebay for business. Then in the main page, Click the blue message button.

If you don't want to use FB, you can just go to the Help & Contact link at the top of any eBay page, follow the links & type Call Me into the box or chat with them. They are often not US Reps though. The FB ones often are US Reps, but FB is a notoriously dangerous site, if you care about computer security. That said, millions of people use it every day.
