It's possible their payment method was declined, or is just still processing for some reason. If it's still in your Awaiting Payment section and not Awaiting Shipment, definitely don't ship it yet. You could reach out to the customer and ask if if they got any notice about it. If they want the item, I imagine they'd want to make sure they get the payment to go through.
