Authentication Delays

The delays in the authentication process have gone way past the point of reasonable. My latest item has been sitting at the authentication site for NINE days. I was told by support on Monday that the item was verified as authentic, but was now moving on to the ‘verification of condition and description’ phase. So:

a) why are these two things not done simultaneously?

b) how can that simple process still be ongoing more than 48 hours later?

The authentication system is broken and eBay/PSA need to find a solution fast. This is bad for everyone - buyers and sellers.

Two weeks, buyer cancelled on me. 

eBay charged my bank account before sending me the card back.

I have no card and am now out hundreds of dollars. They played it off on a call like there is damage, but there is none at all especially given how well I ship things. They only mentioned damage AFTER the seller cancelled - they claimed they reached out on the 18th to seller to ask about their acceptance but the seller got refunded on the 17th after dealing with it.

This card was shipped from me and received by them on 08/29.
