Anyone having an absolutely dead weekend?

No views, no questions, nada. Oh well....gave me time to add another 10 listings. At least there's something.  More for no one to see....lol.

It's hard for me to break that old habit of listing on Sunday, but response doesn't justify the effort.

Anyone having an absolutely dead weekend?

Yes have been have dead weekends few times already, don't know what is happing my sales have always been great.  I have noticed that ebay sends an email out when and item similar to one you are selling is cheaper.  Which I feel is not right because it takes away sales from sellers

Are you selling in a bloated category? emerald --

No I don't think it could be called bloated,, I sell themed living memory lockets mainly. Even though there are other sellers with the same type of items, its really not an  overly  saturated  catagory . IMO

Anyone having an absolutely dead weekend?

As far as the OP topic "dead weekend" goes, I sell a lot of stuff each week, on 2 accounts.

I do find unexplained lull periods.    Days where I have 20 sales are followed by days of 1 or 2 sales.    I do understand the randomness of statistical phenomena.    Random events don't happen at a consistent pace over short time periods. But over longer time periods, the flow is more steady.  And I do make revisions and post new items that interfere with analyzing this.

One thing that I have noticed is that I receive bursts of sales from different buyers all within a very short period of time... an hour or so.    In one or two hours I sometimes receive a flurry of sales of different items, from different buyers, all clustered together.  This makes me wonder if my account is being featured in search results or on eBay pages for short bursts of time or if there are emails eBay is sending out for a variety of my items all at the same time.     I have witnessed this happening several times.   I'm basing this on the times that I receive the eBay SOLD email.  I haven't rooted further in to the data to see the time stamps in paypal.

Something is frequently clustering my sales into short periods, though.  (and it could just be a random phenomenon....but I still wonder about it).

Had a decent weekend of sales, BUT, most all my recent relists and many new listings have 0 views which is NOT normal.  There are bots out there that ALWAYS hit these categories for at least one view within 24 hours of the listing.  Some of them have been up for over a week with no traffic.  Odd.

Yes you are right. Sometimes for days and days the only view I get is the Bot view...but what makes them start to ignore you as well?? Pretty darn depressing when an AI ignores you.

@dtexley3

Since early yesterday morning, I have had 4 healthy sales and 3 further bites that should end up sellilng.  No how does that just happen out of the blue? Well, I picked up a get out of jail for free.

I can understand you're upset - but it's 2 days before Xmas and alot of your items are for lawn mowers- I got a foot of snow here today - I won't be using a lawn mower for a long time!

Hoping that sales pic up next week when everyone receives their Ebay gift cards and are looking for what they didn't get for Xmas!

It is probably unreasonable to expect much, if any, sales on Christmas weekend.  For the majority of the U.S. in particular, it is already after 5:00, if you take my meaning, and here on the West Coast it is nearly 4:20.

I know I am getting ready to get dressed and head out to get the bottle of Kraken for tonight's egg nog, and will probably be home late, and won't feel up to doing anything eBay related (selling or buying).

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

I hear you.  We just had a countless number of annoying little snowflakes descend on our town over night as well.  😄

I think most who haven't finished their Christmas stuff are out hitting the open all day until Christmas stores for those last minute things. They're not going to be shopping online unless it's stuff they want for AFTER Christmas.

DD & SIL were at Target last night and said the checkout lines were halfway up the aisles. They gave up because the baby was fretting so bringing the kids over tonight so they can try again.

We have just returned from the grocery store(s) odyssey and the traffic is pretty heavy for 7:00 on Saturday night.
