A few days ago I read a thread where someone asked about the new "print coupon" option when printing the packing slip. Well I created one coupon and printed 25 copies, and I'm going to put one in each package. I have a number of buyers who are repeat customers and this will give them a little incentive to buy my stamps and coins instead of my competition's. I still send offers, but the discount is on top of the offer price (as I understand you use the coupon code on check out, on the total owed). So I will keep in mind there are coupons circulating when sending offers.
Wondered if anyone else thought this was a good idea. I get if you're selling one off type of items where people won't likely be back, it probably wouldn't work well. But in my store there's about half a dozen buyers who show up every two weeks to buy stamps. Some just come and pay, others wait for an offer by putting what they want on their watch list.
I don't have quite as many repeat coin buyers, but there's a few. I put the coupon expiry to July 31 so I can go ahead and send new ones in another month or so. The two month time limit is to encourage repeat business to happen more quickly, as opposed to giving someone 6 months to come and make their next purchase. It has unlimited uses up until expiry so those frequent buyers of mine can shop as often as they want and pay as much or as little as they want for an order and still get a discount to use the following time.

I haven't printed one of the new coupons, but we have business cards printed thru Vista Print that have our logo and info on one side and a coupon on the other side. We attached to the packing slip, coupon side up for each order. I hope they work well for you - we used to get some sales from them, but have not since the Holidays.
Keep us posted on how it goes - I want to try the new coupons also.

i am doing two of them, one for under under $50 I give a print coupon of $5 off $50 order and another if someone orders over $50 I give a coupon $10 off $100 order... just started this and those coupons haven't gotten to those buyers yet.

from the Coupon Terms and Conditions:
"Coupon does not apply to auction-style listings, purchases made through Best Offer or Seller Offer features, or any listings in the Real Estate, Motors Vehicles, or Coins & Currency categories."

I sell mostly one-offs, with few repeat buyers. However, I have sent out a few coupons recently....still too early to assess the effectiveness. I print mine right on the Packing Slip.

I have cards from vista also, but no coupon...I have half a box left, reprint won't happen, new cards will be done with my website info - they can order and insta save with cheaper prices that way.
On side note, the coded coupon select for "public" option I have done before, no one uses it has been our experience, but they order if do traditional markdown sale.

The vista print card is a good idea. I would do that, but I'm already paying for address labels (which are darned expensive when you use 100 of them a month). eBay no longer provides my Canadian address on the invoice (and no changing it in the system will fix that), so I cover up the US address with my Canadian one to try to prevent people from returning stuff to the freight forwarder. (I know the address is on the outside of the package, but I can't help that.
I'm likely going to change the coupon in time, but I thought I'd start with 10% off (so my buyer who wants a 14.99 stamp set gets an offer for 12.00, but because he's a repeat customer he would buy the stamp set for 10.80).

Good catch - I will need to send these to my stamp customers. I guess if my stamp customers get an offer from me, it will be better than the 10% in the coupon. But it might encourage someone who just shows up and buys stuff to come back and buy more stuff.
Half my listings are in coins, the other half are in other stuff.

Never mind that, it has been posted that when seller offer and best offer are used, there's no further discount.
It would not be good to send them to coin customers if they can't even use the coupon, that's far worse of an insult than not bothering to send any coupon at all.

I only order on Vista Print when I have a 40% off coupon and/or free shipping. If you order 500 cards, then the "bonus" offer gives you 500 more at no additional shipping and for about $10 more once you order. We are about out, so I need to scrounge for a new 40% off coupon.

C you can get your address labels to match your logo at Vista print, in fact you can get anything business related there and they do beautiful work and ship fast. You can even design your own logo like I did and download it.

You mean self adhesive address labels like Avery? If you printing them on ink jet and use half sheet labels, Amazon has great price on Packzon labels (just as good as Avery brand) 200 for like $13 and change with free shipping... if that helps, idk, figured i'd mention.

"The Coupon cannot be combined with any other Coupon, site discount, rebate, promotion, or when paying with PayPal Easy Payments or Gift Cards"
Does anybody know if this means eBay promotions or seller promotions (or both)? What about markdowns?

That's great idea. It may increase your selling.
