“RELIST ITEM” - Quantity default behavior?

Got 3 dings on my account that happened in the same week when using “relist item” started to relist item(S) instead -causing me to cancel 3 orders for not in stock -

when ebay (IOS app) was  changing the quantity from 1 to whatever quantity I had initially before I relisted without me noticing, since “quantity” was not visible to me, and I never would have guessed ebay defaults to / assumes I have same starting quantity every time i hit “relist item”

 

  I dont believe this was always the case was it? And even if so, doesn’t seem right or smart...

 

ebay, if i just had 10 items, sold 9 and then the auction ends, and i use “relist item” - I DONT WANT QUANTITY TO BE 10 again!! I want it to default back to 1 until i change it (or even start at the quantity I have remaining , but definitely NOT the same quantity I initially started with !! How or why would I do that? I dont ALWAYS have 10 items, but I do ALWAYS have at least 1 item!!

 

22 years no issues on ebay,  no cancelled orders and very few buyer cases - (never lost 1 case of the few either) - glowing feedback, like above & beyond type of service and matching feedback - creating long term customers and ebay fans by the day -  sales recently growing fast...i made ebay hundreds of dollars a month in their profits, and in many cases,  per week ...

 

then the gall to charge me 5% MORE in fees for a month (top rated seller! Then knocked down to below standard due to this issue for 1 month! then right back to top rated seller !!)

 

the real kicker - ebay rep tells me they can see it was an “honest mistake” and agreed the behavior should be qty 1. I tell her i cant ship my most recent sales because the new fee amount (17% due to below standard)  causes me to take a LOSS on the items. Also that i am shutting down until the time window / punishment lapses.

 

She tells me : “YOU WILL RECEIVE A CREDIT FOR THESE IN 48-72 hours, and any future sales as well, as the dings have been removed -and your account will also be back to normal at that time...

SO DONT WORRY GO AHEAD AND SELL AND SHIP YOUR ITEMS” (I HAVE THIS RECORDED NO LESS, AND PLAYED IT BACK FOR EBAY SUPERVISOR TO HEAR )

 

GUESS WHAT? NO CREDIT EVER CAME

 

AND EBAY DID NOT AND WILL NOT

HONOR WHAT THE REP TOLD ME

 

- THAT EVEN THO I HAVE A RECORDING OF THIS CONVO and I PLAYED IT BACK FOR THEM. THEY HAVE THE SAME RECORDING ON THEIR SYSTEMS AS WELL (for TRAINING PURPOSES !!)

 

EBAY HAS ZERO HONOR - they dont stand behind what their EBAY REPRESENTATIVE SAYS !? Then WHAT GOOD IS A “REPRESENTATIVE!? What or who do they represent, and does it even matter? Apparently not!!

 

cost ME hundreds of dollars, and now thousands in inventory that i refuse to list, sell, or ship until the extra “ebay tax” is removed...

 

unreal...be careful people...
