It appears that shortly it will be possible to leave 5 pictures when you leave feedback.
Buyers, of course, can already leave negative feedback for a seller. The pictures can simply reinforce that negativity,
BUT we all know that sellers can not leave negative feedback for a buyer so they try positive feedback with a negative comment. Usually does not work out well for the seller. Judging by the posts on these boards there are certainly buyers who various sellers believe deserve negative feedback. Scams, fraudulent returns, repeated bidders who never pay, etc. You know the ones.
The cynic in me says that there are those who will try to use the pictures to make a negative point. An upside down flag for example, a universal sign of distress. Picture of an empty box suggesting that is what the return turned into. A frowning emoji. Well you get the idea.
Going to be fun to watch. I wonder how many sellers will put their foot in it. 'Cause I've got to figure eBay will be monitoring it.

If this question was about how photos uploaded to SNAD claims are treated, I don't see why there would be a new policy. It's pretty much always been possible to upload photos to a SNAD claim, it's just that photos weren't required to open a claim in the past. So I'd refer you to the existing policies on how SNADs are handled.
But like Jack said, veering off topic so back to the "feedback photo" show ...

Feedback internet-wide is only about 30% - eBay is no different.

I think I remember that post. He was immediately asked by others for some kind of proof, or a source, or a cite... anything to substantiate his claim, but he scurried away. I assumed he was just trolling for a reaction but did not expect to be asked for proof.
What gets me about this whole adding-photos-to-feedback idea, and I know I've posted this before, is that eBay maintains zero accountability for any substantial changes on this site. There is never anyone from eBay who posts (either here or elsewhere), "I'm the one who spearheaded this change, and this is why I think it's a great idea." There is no discussion, no debate, and often no documentation and no announcement in advance (if at all). Users calling in to Customer Support find the CS people as surprised as everyone else. Meanwhile, the many reported bugs go un-fixed. This thread is approaching 130 comments now, with not one of them from an eBay representative willing to discuss the topic.
While I'm happy selling on eBay, I am at the same time banging my head on my desk over the many ill-timed, ill-thought-out and in some cases downright stupid ideas getting dumped into production, especially when the new software required to support the new idea does not even work properly because it was never properly tested. Software development and release procedures are about the most important areas of this company, like many others, but the way it's implemented here has been atrocious for many years.

Just a general comment.
I think it's a bad idea.
I think people (customers) are more likely to post a negative pic (with a complaint) than they are a positive pic (with a compliment). Maybe I'm wrong but that's just how I feel.

Because buyers aren't leaving feedback very often??? How is that a sign the site is "going down the river"?
Amazon even has a smaller almost microscopic number of buyers that leave FB for sellers. Are they too "going down the river"?

I do not. As it seems to be in the test phase (not required in all instances), I would expect that there is no policy on it that eBay is sharing at this time, and as this has strayed from topic of photos in feedback, I am done posting about it.
True, but I thought you had seen something I haven't and I'm interested in seeing what it says. They aren't yet testing it on the US site. Or at least they weren't as of a couple of days ago.

Because there has to be guidelines to what kind of pics can be posted. As with any feature there are always those that will find a way to abuse it. They could post pics of a dog, cat, porno, a sign with some saying, political stuff, MEMs, and on and on. Seems Ebay would have guidelines on this function.

It is FAR lower than that on Amazon.
And a bit lower than that here for me too.

As a buyer, I love the chance to add photos of the item I'm happy with in its new location in my home. What I'm confused about is that I just left positive feedback for one item, and was given the option to add photos (I added three), and then I went to leave positive feedback for another item, and there was no option to add photos... ???? Why some and not others? I ended up just using the "contact seller" button to send the second seller photos of the item as a feature in my new DIY project.
Confused as to what makes adding photos available or not, when I was leaving positive feedback for both. Just weird.

It's a new feature that is still in the testing stage so it will apply randomly. Like most new features on eBay they get rolled out site wide at the speed of a very slow turtle.

Though the option to upload pictures have been available over here for many months I've seen no sign of any yet appearing in feedback.
From questions asked this is going to be a buyer only thing. So if a buyer does post a picture of an empty box or a dead rat in the feedback, the seller will have no option to post any picture in reply.
It's just make feedback more one sided than it already is.

I posted two pictures in Feedback. On to show what I ordered was not what I received although similar was sent.
I left one to show how well the product works.
Neither is posted in the feedbacks. So what is the purpose of uploading a picture in the feedback if it will not be posted? Is the picture just for the seller to see?

We spend money on a light box and back drops and expensive digital cameras only for the customer to take a quick snap on there phones and have all the attention drawn to that pic instead.
this is a very very bad idea, this will be scrapped in no time but not before the damage is done.
who comes up with these ideas?
