I shipped 11 packages last Tuesday and Wednesday. All were sent priority extra insurance if needed. None have been received and they say delayed due to weather problems. I'm in ND and the packages were going to different places. Buyers are wondering where their packages are. Is anyone else having this issue. A week for priority is crazy slow. I know there was problems in TX but these were going all over the country.

You can go here for current Seller Protections.
I think you are right about extension to delivery times has been one of the best kept secrets. I do not recall reading about it anywhere. Maybe I missed it?
I learned about it when I had a package lost in transient. Being proactive before buyer made Item Not Received Claim, I called eBay Shipping. They told me not to worry and explained how the extension would work.

I just read ebay's short policy change statement and it puts great importance on not affecting the sellers performance standard and making sure they get credit for shipping "on time", as if that mattered when they are about to steal back your money.
They only add 3 extra days past the "expected" delivery date before they "step in" (a euphemism for take your money).
I have had a parcel that was 3 weeks past the expected delivery date so that change is useless.
What about something more to the point and meaningful like...when the item is delivered refund the seller and take it back from the buyer...OR...block that amount in the buyer account until the item is returned to the seller if the buyer doesn't want it.
THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL.....something to actually address the problem.
It would be a common sense pro-active policy amendment instead of just leaving the seller out in the cold, out of pocket for the purchase and relying on the honesty of the buyer to return the item....which in my experience didn't work out very well.
Well, there is always my "credit for selling" to keep me warm I suppose.
