Any one figured out a reasonable method to avoid the new mandatory Good til Cancelled "Feature" on fixed price listings?
I am one of the 20-25% who did not use the GTC feature because it doesn't work with the way I managed my inventory. Looking for any realistic solution. Thanks slimdogslim!

Yes, list after the 20th.
Following month, relist on the 19th.
Following month, relist on the 18th, etc...

I do no think there is a way to avoid it. If you want your FP listings to end 30 days (or whatever time frame works for you) after you have started them, you will need to end them yourself. Sorry.
Myself, I did not spend anytime at all trying to figure out a method to avoid it. I spent my time figuring out a reasonable method to make it work for me and my items. First GTC listings that I have ever posted went up today. Sometimes, a person can burn too much energy trying to fight something that is not worth a fight IMHO.

How many items do you have to sell with listings already created? How many free listings do you have each month?
I used to be able to rotate 1000 listings every other month by using my 500 store free listings. No longer possible, as we have to go through and cancel all the GTC listings or pay out a huge amount of money on insertion fees.

I did read somewhere that Inkfrog has a tool to handle it.......didn't look, but I presume something to schedule ending listings/relists, etc......... I'll bet a number of other 3rd parties come up with something.......

Right now, I have about 950 listings already created, 510 are active. Most of the items that are not active right now will be going to other venues this month. At this time, I have a Premium store, so I have 1000 listings available, but I would not say that they are free. My slowest months on eBay are usually May and June, so I normally downgrade my store to Basic for those two months and then go back to Premium in July. I do quite a bit of stock rotating during the months that I have a Basic Store and may be doing the same thing again this year, depending on the level of sales.

I just don't know why they can't leave the choice up to us. I have the 100 free listings, and now that is all the listings I will be able to have for a month without paying listing fees (which I refuse to do since they suck enough money out of me.) I got free promotions almost every month so I was able to keep 150-175 listings going by spreading out the date. Sigh. Free listings won't do me any good now. I will sell less, eBay will make less. Makes no sense to me.

Yes, I saw that on one of the threads. I checked it out and it might be helpful in avoiding double charges with listings. https://success.inkfrog.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024700851-inkFrog-Releases-GTC-Watchdog-Schedule-yo...
I am going to try my method first...I don't want to part with my money if I do not have to

I am not being sarcastic, I do want to learn here, why do you think that free listings promotions will not do you any good now?
Say a free listing promotion comes out that is for 100 free GTC listings Mar 20-22. So during those days say you use 75 of the free promotion listings. The listings that you put up on Mar 20th will need to be ended by Apr 19th, the 21st ended by Apr 20th, the 22nd ended by Apr 21st if you do not want to pay the renewal fee or take from your monthly allotment. You can end them at any time during the 30 days if your schedule does not allow for them to be ended on the exact date to avoid a renewal. Maybe I am missing something, as this is all new to me, too.

find stuff that has a good chance of selling in 6 months........

I have been told in another thread that I started that a seller's active sales page will still show how many days left in the 30-day cycle. So manually ending the listings will not be too onerous. But I am a small seller and those with hundreds of listings may want to use a 3rd party program, inkfrog or some name like that, as someone else noted elsewhere.
I don't understand the logic of those who advocate listing on a specific day in the billing cycle as I don't see any connection between billing cycles and 30-day listing cycles.

One may want to consider listing on specific days to avoid being charged twice in one month for one listing.
Example: I listed a GTC this morning, Mar 1st, it took one listing from my allotment. The listing will renew on March 31st and will take another listing from my allotment at that time, if I do not end it prior to March 31st. In the event that I have used all of the listing allotments for my store, I will be charged a listing fee.
So, my take away would be, if you are concerned that you might forget or be unavailable to end the listing before it renews, and/or you usually use all of your allotted listings every month and do not want to pay any additional listing fees, today would not be a good day for you to list items.
