Any one figured out a reasonable method to avoid the new mandatory Good til Cancelled "Feature" on fixed price listings?
I am one of the 20-25% who did not use the GTC feature because it doesn't work with the way I managed my inventory. Looking for any realistic solution. Thanks slimdogslim!

The problem is I am old, and it will be too confusing. It is as simple as that. I will just list 100 in the middle of the month and let it run so I don't have to think about it. My brain is wearing out....... lol
Well, at least you found a solution that will work for you and your listings That is better than throwing in the towel and quitting. I am not sure what "old" is anymore. I know people that are in their 80's that run circles around me, one of them being my Mom that just turned 81. I wish you successful selling.

I have not found this answer- will we be able to cancel multiple listings with GTC (prior to 30 day end) in one fell swoop or will they have to be cancelled one-at-a-time?

Assuming that you are not planning on letting any GTC listing run for more than a year without refreshing it (ending, revising and relisting), then there is an easy way to avoid having to pay a listing fee for any double-relists (relisting twice in one month).
If you start a listing earlier in the month, you will have less than a year before it will double-relist. That won't be a problem if the listing sells out before then, but if you want to avoid having to think about it, then this is an easy way to do that. You will still have active listings in the first week, so you shouldn't lose any sales because of this. The active listings will be ones that were started or relisted earlier, in the previous month.
This chart shows you the earliest day in each month when you can start a listing, and have at least 12 months before it will double-relist. If you list later than this in the month, then you will have even more time before it will double-relist. But it will still be best to refresh older, stale listings (12 months or older) if they haven't sold.
Start date: Double-relist: Time interval: Jan 6, 19 Jan 31, 20 12 months Feb 6, 19 May 31, 20 15 months Mar 8, 19 May 31, 20 14 months Apr 7, 19 May 31, 20 13 months May 7, 19 May 31, 20 12 months Jun 7, 19 Jul 31, 20 13 months Jul 7, 19 Jul 31, 20 12 months Aug 7, 19 Aug 31, 20 12 months Sep 7, 19 Oct 31, 20 13 months Oct 7, 19 Oct 31, 20 12 months Nov 7, 19 Dec 31, 20 13 months Dec 7, 19 Dec 31, 20 12 months

I would give that advice 5 "Helpfuls" if I could.
All of this angst about rollovers within a 31-day month can easily be avoided by either (1) not listing in the first week of the month and/or (2) if a month has 31 days, check your listings on the 29th or 30th and cancel any that would relist on the 31st.

I agree with the comments it should just be left up to the seller. If not it will cause me to list less items . Less listings means less chance of sales, less sales means less profit for ebay. If they want to kill business and their profit then its on them.

I use Seller Hub. On the Manage Active Listings page, put a check mark in the box beside the items that you want to end. Then go to the drop down Action and click end.

Thank you ... I'm glad this is so helpful.
I decided to check the time intervals for next year too. The chart will look slightly different for each year, depending on whether or not the 12-month interval includes a Feb 29 (leap year) or not. 2020 is a leap year, of course. But, the rules don't change. As long as you don't start a new listing in the first week of the month, you will always have at least 12 months before the listing will double-relist.
The first dates in each month when you can start a listing, and still have at least 12 months before it will double-relist:
Start date: | Double-relist: | Time interval: || Start date: | Double-relist: | Time interval: 6-Jan-19 | 31-Jan-20 | 12 months || 7-Jan-20 | 31-Jan-21 | 12 months 6-Feb-19 | 31-May-20 | 15 months || 7-Feb-20 | 31-Jul-21 | 17 months 8-Mar-19 | 31-May-20 | 14 months || 6-Mar-20 | 31-May-21 | 12 months 7-Apr-19 | 31-May-20 | 13 months || 6-Apr-20 | 31-May-21 | 13 months 7-May-19 | 31-May-20 | 12 months || 6-May-20 | 31-May-21 | 12 months 7-Jun-19 | 31-Jul-20 | 13 months || 6-Jun-20 | 31-Jul-21 | 13 months 7-Jul-19 | 31-Jul-20 | 12 months || 6-Jul-20 | 31-Jul-21 | 12 months 7-Aug-19 | 31-Aug-20 | 12 months || 6-Aug-20 | 31-Aug-21 | 12 months 7-Sep-19 | 31-Oct-20 | 13 months || 6-Sep-20 | 31-Oct-21 | 13 months 7-Oct-19 | 31-Oct-20 | 12 months || 6-Oct-20 | 31-Oct-21 | 12 months 7-Nov-19 | 31-Dec-20 | 13 months || 6-Nov-20 | 31-Dec-21 | 13 months 7-Dec-19 | 31-Dec-20 | 12 months || 6-Dec-20 | 31-Dec-21 | 12 months

I agree the angst over being charged twice within a month is overdone. My worry is listing 200 items using a free listing promo and then not noticing when they will roll (could be anytime during the month) and I'm out of my 50 free listings. That will be a big hit if I don't pay attention.

Or by simply staggering your listings throughout the month. Assuming you are also making sales, the chance of having items relisted twice AND having to pay fees because you've run out of free listings is very, very slim.

Couple huge problems with closing and reslisting a GTC product:
When you close a listing, the URL for that listing will be removed, so any place on the web that points to your listing will be invalid.
If you want to dig into this theory a little more, google this: backlinks
