Another fee that eBay has Started

PLEASE READ EVERY BODY

I have just discovered that eBay has added a NEW FEE  on our sales called  MANAGED PAYMENTS. Here is how it goes   "You posted a regular penny for $0.99 cents." Now eBay will take $.30 cents of every sale. So NOW your $0.99 cent sale will break down like this.       $0.99 sale   = eBay gets 12.9% for the sale.  $0.30 for     ( no matter if the sale is $ 0.99 cents or $99.00 dollars)   every listing Which leaves you with $0.57 profit. NOW you have to spend $0.55 cents for a stamp to send item to your customer.  This leaves you with a profit on that penny is $0.02 cents before you send out the coin. You end up with $0.01 cuz now you also have to send out that SALE penny. If I can not sell my coins that might be worth $0.99 and make a reasonable tiny profit.  I will NOT sell my items worth $100.00 here either. I will look for another Platform to sell my coins on.  I HOPE EVERY ONE READS THIS.        PLEASE HELP

PayPal also took a 30 cent fixed fee on every transaction, unless you had a micropayments account.

On this one ebay just doing the same thing paypal did. Unless as another poster stated you had a micropayments account. Then it was 5 Cents instead of 30 But 5% on the rest of the sale. Unless OP did not use paypal & used Merchant Credit Card & has a deal with the credit card company to not pay the Transaction Fee.

Not sure how long you've been on Ebay. Please say you just started and didn't know about the fees. Yes, selling 99 cent items is pretty much a waste of time. I suggest take 10 of those 99 cent items and group them into a single "lot" and start at $9.99

Managed payments isn't a 'fee' - it's a payment system.

And it *does* matter of the sale is 99 cents or 99 dollars.  It's all a matter of scale.  I don't think you can blame a payment system for such an ill thought out idea like offering free shipping on a 99 cent item, but free shipping on a $99 item may make...uh...cents.

The only "new" thing about this fee is that eBay is now collecting it instead of Paypal.  Either way, the 30 cent fee has been around a long time.  It's nothing new.

How were you doing your books before if you just now believe MP is collecting .30 per transaction and you do not remember PP doing this?
