eBay, you need to stop treating your most loyal long-term sellers with such blatant disrespect. ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE LISTED WITH THE SAME VIEWABILITY.
If items must be "promoted" by forcing sellers to give up what little profit margin they may have left in this runaway inflationary economy, you will soon have no sellers left except your favored fraudsters, cheats, scammers, drop shippers, etc.

Or, we could dump this "pay-to-play" crap, and go back to being an egalitarian platform whose sales/users and other important data doesn't just keep plummeting (and for good reason.)
Randomized results worked fine, before some genius decided they could "boost sales" by squeezing the little guys.

Most likely repeat buyers...correct? You've been selling along time, I understand this. But, imagine just starting out or having a limited number of followers.
Why else do you think Ebay goes so hard on promoted listings.

Again, those sellers have either have highly prized items or have a huge following. There is no way to be your "average" seller without promoting.
But, soon the average seller may only be promted listing sellers. The current model is not sustainable.

Oh for Pete's sake. I never said anything of the kind, and you know it.

I decided to help you out and hopefully you will ease your mind of negativity about search. I checked the first 3 paintings you have listed:
roger deering painting 47 listed yours #2 congrats
louis anthony burnett painting 7 listed yours #1 congrats
henry ward ranger painting 12 listed yours #2 congrats.

NOT true, Rockstar. There is no law that says randomization must be abandonned in order to favor the "pay-to-play" schemes some of you prefer.

Yeah, but you're part of the "Rockstar set" so your opinion doesn't count.
And it's a little misleading to present "facts" when we all know there are hundreds who "beg to differ".

Vert, very few buyers search by artist.
My paintings ARE being shadow banned (or choose your preferred term) in some fashion (I am not privy to the formula or exact method.) As I said...nine painting in the first few weeks of this year, and then ZERO since I posted about the fraudsters.
But, I refuse to give up my profits to double my fee costs just to have my paintings visible for the person who is just generally perusing the art category.

Hold on, I want to make sure I understand this. Are you alleging Ebay got your items from customs, and sold your items using your pictures.?

Extrapolating from all the "shadow ban" threads that are being closed "due to age".... lol.... Yes, I would say easily hundreds, if not many thousands.

Yes. AND, the rockstar set will even acknowledge this is happening. I'd tell you the username of the account that resells stuff that was incorrectly denied forward shipment by customs, but if I did, I'd get another nastygram.

I'm not sure what's happening, but I can assure you EBAY isn't stealing your stuff for resale. That's a pretty serious allegation that borders on libel, or defamation. Plus, it really damages your credibility.

Where did I say "stealing."
What I said is happening IS HAPPENING. You can google it, but I can't give you the username of the eBay-created-and-controlled username that serves as the sole clearing house for this activity.
Please do some research and lighten up on me a little until you've done so.
Thanks.

ok...let's split hairs here....
You posted:
"...got them from customs..."
how did they "get" them from customs (short of your obvious implication)

how about instead of saying shadow banned we just say stopped, ended or prevented from listing.
ebay has already stated that they prevent over 1 million listings a day from being listed because of safety recalls.it was stated that ebay has hundreds of employees involved in making sure 1 million listings a day do not get listed. the rest are taken down.this is done with UPC codes
many other sigghts with facts will mention that the sell thru rate on ebay is only around 50%
I am unsure if that means per year or per seller.
that to me menas that only half of the merchandise listed is ever sold
I guess you could just say that ebay sellers are ending or deleting over 1 million listings a day due to "failure to sell"
that woud mean that over 2 million listings a day are either blocked or ended due to no sales
that is not shadow banning, its just the facts
you can see what ebay has to say about banned listings in this recent article
