eBay, you need to stop treating your most loyal long-term sellers with such blatant disrespect. ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE LISTED WITH THE SAME VIEWABILITY.
If items must be "promoted" by forcing sellers to give up what little profit margin they may have left in this runaway inflationary economy, you will soon have no sellers left except your favored fraudsters, cheats, scammers, drop shippers, etc.

Maybe rockstars get preferred results visibility too. Just a guess...lol.
The only thing that eBay-assigned designation gets me is grief.

all of the items that get rejected by the old GSP were resold on ebay by certain sellers for ebay or the GSP
of course they would use the same pictures because ebay payed the sellers for the item
the sellers kept the money
the buyers were all refunded but did not get the merchandise, the sellers lost nothing

Many years ago slotting fees in grocery stores were not required either. Like everything else they change over time.

The reason eBay, Etsy, and to a lesser extent Amazon have been losing users lately has been Covid related. When most of the stores were closed many people shopped online. Now that the stores are back to normal many have stopped buying online and went back to brick and mortar stores.
Amazon has been laying off people in droves the last few months. Just announced another 9,000 layoffs this week.

"...I used to ship to foreign destinations until eBay started re-selling them AFTER I sold them, got them from customs, and used my photos to resell them ..."
this statement is a 'bit' misleading .....

ebay does not buy and sell items. A buyer can buy something from another seller and resell it. eBay is publicly traded company and if they did buy and resell it would be disclosed.
There have been many times over the years I have bought things on eBay and resold at a very nice profit.
In case you are not aware the TOS you agreed to by using eBay allows anyone to use your pictures you upload to eBay.

There are 783,000 Listings for 'Paintings'. How would anyone get to the first page? NOW, there's a way. Promotions.
Same system that has been on Bing and Google (pay per click) to get on the 1st page for over a decade.
Your items are NOT being 'hidden, shadow banned etc.'
You are simply buried by the numbers. Your items are there. It's number 445,992 shown on page 2229.

It's not sellers we're worried of running out of, it's the buyers.

There are plenty of items on eBay that there are thousands of the exact item available. There is only 1 top spot in search results therefore only 1 of them can appear in the top spot.
Someone has to be at the bottom as well as the top spot.

Please explain your screaming (using caps) about how all sellers could possibly get the SAME visibility. Someone ALWAYS has to be first and someone ALWAYS has to be last on the list. It almost sounds like the new woke where everyone gets a trophy.

It's not sellers we need, it's buyers. We have enough sellers, lol.
