Did you mean:

All the shadow banning threads are being closed "due to age."....LOL.

eBay, you need to stop treating your most loyal long-term sellers with such blatant disrespect.  ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE LISTED WITH THE SAME VIEWABILITY.

If items must be "promoted" by forcing sellers to give up what little profit margin they may have left in this runaway inflationary economy, you will soon have no sellers left except your favored fraudsters, cheats, scammers, drop shippers, etc.

Shoot the messenger.  Sure, I'm used to that.

You ask them for yourself.  Not my responsibility.

Not like I wasn't shocked by it...

There is nothing about fine art that fits what you are describing.  But thanks for playing.

What I said is happening IS HAPPENING.  You can google it, but I can't give you the username of the eBay-created-and-controlled username that serves as the sole clearing house for this activity.

Please do some research and lighten up on me a little until you've done so.

Thanks.

Let me try this again. I googled it and found nothing. Are you suggesting ebay is in cahoots with border patrol to seize items and then they resell them? Also not happening. How about you just say what you think is happening because all I can do is infer from your cryptic explanations.

Why do people insist they know something when they know nothing?

It has already been admitted multiple times.  There is an eBay-created-and-controlled username here (out of Michigan) that takes items sold through eBay and that were refused forward shipment by customs that then resells those items on eBay using the original sellers photos and descriptions.

Don't believe me?  So what.

Google: Ever wonder where your ebay items go if they are seized

...and, yes, then you can apologize.

Actually, it does happen, it is perfectly legal, and it is also a part of the GSP agreement.

That being said, the spin the OP is putting on it is way off base.

Pitney Bowes (PB) can at any time deem something ineligible to forward and Customs can kick something back.

PB as the exporter has all the risk here and they are within their rights to refuse to forward something if it breaks the law, or the customs rules for the recipient country.

PB does not go out and "steal" stuff from Customs.

If an item is not eligible to be sent overseas for whatever reason, either before or after customs, Pitney Bowes can and does reserve the right to sell the item to recoup their money.  They can also return the item to the seller if they wish (rare).  There is an account that sells stuff that gets nixed from GSP forwarding on eBay.

What the OP is not saying, is that when an item is "re-sold", the Buyer has been refunded, and the Seller usually keeps the proceeds of the sale. The only time I have seen where a Seller was not made whole was for an illegal item.

"Item Eligibility. Not all listings on eBay.com are eligible for GSP. eBay reserves the right at any time, in its sole discretion, with or without notice to you, to alter or amend the eligibility requirements for GSP Items, including, but not limited to, limits on the number, type, category, and/or value of items and/or transactions. You agree not to purchase any ineligible items through GSP. More information about ineligible items may be found here. You agree that if any item is found to be ineligible, Pitney Bowes will have no liability and will have, in its discretion and in any manner that it prefers, the right to dispose of or liquidate the ineligible item, including without limitation (A) returning the item to the Seller, (B) handing over the item to the authorities, or (C) destroying the item. Pitney Bowes is authorized to open and inspect any GSP Item without notice."

Look, the eBay reselling business is not what I started this thread for, and I am not going to participate in that particular derailing anymore.

Sorry, but the point of this thread is that "pay-to-play" viewability changes--resulting, many times, in double or more the previous eBay fees-- is a real problem and need to be stopped.

You are forgetting the part that you sold the item...got your selling price...and are no longer the rightful owner of the item they "got" out of customs.....

It's happened on more than one occasion to me with GSP....

they actually resold it for more than the original price...not my problem....they own it

I would say the below spin is clear enough to everyone.

"until eBay started re-selling them AFTER I sold them, got them from customs, and used my photos to resell them under one bogus account"

Thank you. All I was looking for was an explanation from him. So, this account resells items the seller has already been paid for, and is no longer the rightful owner of. Hardly sounds bogus to me. Why is it always so difficult with some people?

Hey @doc-holmes

Another responder already explained this earlier but here’s the gist:

When a buyer is refunded by the GSP … not by the seller … any of the undelivered items confiscated from the GSP depot (or customs) get listed on eBay to recoup some of the refunded money.

The original seller’s information (title, description, photos) are used in these new listings.  The original sellers get to keep the buyers’ original payments … so have experienced no loss.

The OP is totally misinterpreting the situation … seeing something nefarious where it doesn’t exist.  [I’ve seen this first discussed on the Boards about a year ago.]

But it speaks to your credibility. You completely misrepresented one thing, so now I assume you misrepresent everything, Scout.
