Advice needed

Hi I’m looking for some advice, I sold an item a month ago it was paid for straight away and I dispatched the morning after. This morning the postman returned the item with a sticker saying it wasn’t collected from the post office. What I want to know is where do I go from here? I have had no contact from the buyer either.

You are in the UK.....probably best if you ask on that board as there may be differing rules/proceedures there........

I would open the package, re-pack and include a handwritten letter explaining what has happened and express that you are sorry. I would also sent them a message thru ebay stating the same thing you wrote in the letter. this way you have a paper trail so they cant come back and make false claims aganist you about not shipping, not recieving etc. Keep good records and keep reciepts with proof of shipping. If the same thing happens again contact ebay support. Ebay is always looking out for the buyer first (despite what they might say) so have your records ready when or if you call. Good Luck!!

@jpc_dealings_llc

why would you resend it, without direction from the buyer, if they never went to get the package in the first place?  A note does no good if they don't open the package?

Best to await for new information from the buyer.  It could be any number of reasons why it wasn't picked up and speculating won't get you anywhere.  Send a polite message, wait a couple days, if no response send another polite message.  Include photos of the label(s) and any other relevant information that shows it was returned to you.

just trying to help and offer the best customer service as possible. Do all you can so the buyer has no chance at a claim.

I understand what you are saying. If I don’t hear back from them am I ok to relist my items?

I think I would try and contact the buyer again . It could be that they've been unable to get to the post office for any  of a variety of reasons . However if after  two more or so attempts  with no response ,, I'd send a full refund with an explanation to the buyer   and then go ahead and relist the item . Tulips
