Additional monthly zero insertion fee listings for most sellers

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/We-re-increasing-monthly-zero-insertion-fee-listings-for...

Effective August 1, 2020, we are updating our selling fees with additional permanent zero monthly insertion fee listings so that you can continue to introduce, test, and sell new inventory. These changes will be available to all eBay sellers, and you don’t need to take any action.

This Spring, we announced free listings promotions, which proved to be a powerful and effective tool in the challenging COVID-19 environment. We want to help you keep this positive momentum going.

The number of additional monthly zero insertion fee listings sellers will receive are determined by their eBay Store subscription levels. Sellers who have been invited and signed up for managed payments will receive additional monthly zero insertion fee listings in select categories.

For all of the details on this change, please visit the Seller Center.

You're right. Unless you happen to sell in one of those new "selected categories", if you're a Premium you get nothing.

I haven't gotten any promotions with the 200 Free and didn't get this one.  I don't understand why they eliminate a seller that has been here since 2005 and with 100% feedback.  Certainly unfair!

This announcement explains the free listings.  They were for everyone.

Re: Additional monthly zero insertion fee listings for most sellers

I never got an email on this account.  I got an email on my other account.  I never got the previous 3 months of 200 free listings promotions.  So Mine Won't be extended!  I have been eliminated completely from any listing promotions or opportunities.  I have everything checked on my communications.  This happened a few years ago.  I called Tech Support (when you could) and they didn't know why I had been taken off the list.  It has happened again.  I must be on a dead server somewhere.  trenton@ebay

I've reached that age where my brain goes from "you probably shouldn't say that." To "what the heck, let's see what happens. "

Re: Additional monthly zero insertion fee listings for most sellers

If a premium store is not enough and an anchor store is too much, you can fudge it by opening a second premium store.

I was considering doing that, but I mostly sell media so ebay's free listings hit my sweet spot.

Re: Additional monthly zero insertion fee listings for most sellers

This is also going to hit anyone who was registered on dot com but using the free listings available to list on another site (like Canada). In essence, if you got 250 on .com you also got 250 on .ca etc. But now (way down on the page on Seller Central) it states you will no longer get the equivalent free listings on other sites, only the ones for the country where you're registered.

Not that it matters much as they're going to end those listings once MP is activated but I don't want to be incurring listing frees for any .ca ones that roll over before I'm activated in MP and ebay ends them (or at least the ones I haven't managed to convert by then myself).

So, with a Basic store, I gain 100 FP on dot com, but lose the 250 I had to use to list on .ca

I can't understand, what about anchor store without MP? Too bad, because we're screwed.

Most US sellers will be enrolled before the end of the year if they choose to stay. Since you're based in Russia I don't know what your timeline will be for MP enrollment.

@Anonymous- I’m not typically the person that complains when we get more bang for our buck- but the newly announced listing increases have neglected Premium store subscribers.

I don’t list much in the select categories seeing increases- and the number of fixed Premium listings is unchanged. The financial jump from Premium to Anchor is massive and it’s frustrating to see all of these big increases and almost none of them will apply to me.

Having said that- and I hope you’ll escalate that feedback- I have a question.

When a seller lists something in one of the select categories that saw an increase- will that come from the “additional” allotment or will it come from the base fixed price allotment?

For example- a Premium store seller has 1,600 listings. 100 are in one of the select categories, but those listings renew early in the month before the 1,000 limit is reached. Will those 100 listings come off the 1,000 fixed limit or will they come off the additional allotment?

Were you able to get an answer on this @Anonymous  tyler@ebay ?

Re: Additional monthly zero insertion fee listings for most sellers

Hi @coffeebean832 - Brian got a similar question in the chat yesterday, you can see his reply here

Because this is now a permanent part of the store subscription (not a tack-on promotion), listings made within one of the select categories should pull directly from that allotment, not the general one.

Thanks!

Re: Additional monthly zero insertion fee listings for most sellers

Thanks, Tyler. I wasn't able to make yesterday's chat and didn't get a chance to read it all yet. I asked the question in the chat a week ago and Trinton said he'd post an update here when you guys had one, but I'm sure he's been busy with the job transition. 🙃

Oh no! Sorry that that got missed. But yes, it's been a bit of a hectic week or so. Glad we could at least get you some answers. (eventually).

Re: Additional monthly zero insertion fee listings for most sellers

I have a Premium store. But I dont get more listings. I am the guy who pays for a store. And list every day. The starter stores who are hobbies get a bump in free listings. If I want more free listings I have to upgrade to the next store level and thats alot more money. Now you say if I sign up for managed payments I get a bunch more bfree listings in select catagories. Yah well thats no help. I am not in thoses catagories. This is my business and I sell between $6000 and $8000 a month. And you are going try to pinch little .30 listing fees out of me for listings over 1000. Wouldnt you rather get the FVF. I will have to stop listing at 1000 free listings. So you will be losing money.

This makes no sense.

Today my listings not in the select category came out of my 1000, everything in the select categories came out of my 50,000

tyler@ebay- Why can we not see which listings are coming off the extra categories allotment? Is this a technical error that can be fixed or is the information intentionally hidden?

Click on the number of used listings for any other promo from the hub overview page and it gives you a list of item numbers that came off that promo. Why is this different?
